The Official Medium Scale Bass Club

I have written Rondo and asked them to mix up their color palette.

Nice to see the CAR and Medium blue... but howz about a changing color every 6 months?
Seems it would be a strong marketing point, too.

Can you write him too?

My new bass - a LEFT HANDED, Medium scale bass. View attachment 4012737 SX Ursa VT6. It's very hard to find a medium scale lefty bass.
It came out of the box needing some work, but for the price I'm not upset about it. Buzzy frets, volume pots wired backwards, and a tone pot that hardly does anything. SO - I'm going to give it some Pressurewound strings, a Seymour Duncan neck pickup, and new Bourns pots. Then off to a guitar shop for a setup. It should be a sweet machine when I'm done fixing it up!

Sorry your bass came with so many issues. Mine came ready to play, except I alway change to flats. Hope you get it sorted without too much additional $.

Just sent, suggesting black, pearl, vintage white, silver, Sherwood green. I prefer maple fretboards, so hopefully some of these will be offered with the vintage finish they offer on the LPB and CAR ones. Right now I'm tempted to pre-purchase the natural with blocks med scale. My wife will kill me though, if I don't sell some before ordering another. If you don't see my posts anymore you'll know what happened....

I didn't weigh it..but it felt light... the southern swamp ash is much lighter than the northern species of ash and that is just about decimated from a fungus from insect infestation (Dutch Elm disease)..Fender is no longer using it in production... its only used in the custom shop...

I think it's the emerald ash-borer that's killing all the ash trees in the northern states. Hopefully it stays away from the swamp-ash around here.
Anyway, the pic on the Rondo site show a control plate made of plastic, matching the pick guard. Did your's come with the chrome plate?View attachment 4014026
no this one was metal...that one piece of plastic kinda sucks

I would like to finally "officially" join the club with my new Serek medium scale Midwestern 2. I just received it yesterday and it is phenomenal (photo attached).

In keeping with my "1 in / 1 out" rule, I will be listing my Aerodyne AJB-M in the classifieds soon. It's in great shape and will be needing to find a good home (photo attached). Should be listed later today but if anyone is interested prior to that please PM me. Thanks...Chris

I'm totally with you on all counts. But - I was seriously thinking about selling mine (because I had a slight, um, uptick in the number of basses coming in) until the girl took a shine to it a few years ago. I thought it would sit in the closet but her mother said I was allowed to not count it if I gifted it, so. :) She's now taking individual instruction on bass at the university as part of her freshman load, so it is where it belongs. But at this point, if it wasn't? I'd ask her to consider selling it to chip in a bit more on car payments!
