Technically, they're not more expensive. My necks are made in the USA and are priced about on par with what you would pay for a Fender American Bass neck with machines. I'm very proud to be able to offer a unique, top-quality, American-made product that competes directly on price.

This USA made quality is why I just bought my second conversion neck from you just before Christmas. The one I have already is easily at least as well finished as necks on the two USA made basses I have, a Fender and a Music Man. The bass my Lowe Custom neck is on I built from parts myself, so I recently had it given a setup and a once over by a local semi-retired luthier. he complemented the neck, and basically gently roasted my build and setup otherwise.

Can't wait to share the bass that the new neck is going on. Think EB-3 with 70s pickup routing, lightweight mahogany body, Fender sized neck pocket and longscale bridge location, to go with a Lowe roasted maple 2+2 neck. I just need to figure out how I'm finishing the body.

I'm never going to find a bass that checks all of the boxes for me, so I am working toward building my own. The old Arias, the Mezzo and the Ibanez Ergodyne 900 are all influences on the design I have in my head.

I am loving my mezzo. Great ergonomics. A fun bass, good bang for the buck!
Anyone hear if Ibanez plans to expand or upgrade the line at all? I'd love to see a passive double P, or a neck through model… something in addition to the PJ configuration.

Highly doubtful they'll produce either option. Their low-to-mid level features are pretty much set in stone at this point. They only experiment as they get more expensive, and even then double P aren't popular even though they're awesome, and they make very few neck through instruments.

Just dreaming out loud, I guess. I'm not in the design/manufacturing world but it seems like the lower tier would be a good place to play around. Less expensive ingredients, maybe?
Either way, Ibanez is a great company that brings value and innovation at all price points.
Looks like a Warmoth or custom build may be in the future!
