I've thought a lot about the Model T. Love to try one out.

I'm surprised not to see a pic of the Schecter I am most interested in. I'm not sure of the model name, and I don't think it's in production anymore, but I know someone here can help me out...

It looks a lot like a Thunderbird. But its not an exact copy, and it's a Schecter.

Can anyone give me the rundown on that particular bass? I'd like to try to hunt one down.

I love my Diamond Series California Custom 4. It's Korean-made, but I doubt that I could get any more bass for what I put into it... $400 for NOS (new old stock). I'll post a picture after she gets a good polish.

I've had Rotosound Swing 66 strings on it for the last 6 months or so, and they're holding up beautifully... I like them a lot better than the elixirs that came on it.

Ok, I still don't have piccies, but wanted to share something with you guys. I've just installed Bartolini dual-coil pups and a Bart 3-band pre in my Schecter Studio 6.

Wow. This bass just sings like an angel now. The pre was a tight fit, and I had to use the old jack as the new jack on the pre harness didn't fit, but it's all in there now.

I'll do picks when I find my girlfriends camera.

P.S. Huge thanks to Brian at Best Bass Gear for great advice and brilliant customer service with the purchase and install. I'll be going to him from now on for any electronics requirements. Importing from Brian (to Australia) was easier than ordering from a domestic supplier!!

I wanted to know if anyone has tried this. I am getting my bass re-done I have a Elite5 and i'm going to have a three band eq put in, change it from a 9 volt to a 18 volt, and have a split coil switch added. Any thoughts on these changes, and no I am not changing the PUs

I'm looking into getting a new bass, and I'm really liking Schecter's stuff. I have a question, though, and thought this would be the best place to ask it.

I tried out the Schecter Elite-4 the other day, and although I loved the sound of it, the action kind of bugged me. I like my basses to have a really fast neck, and pretty low action. Is the action on the Studio-4 similar to that of the Elite-4?

As for the action, you can bring it down more, that's what I did to my Elite. I find the Elite plenty fast!

Awesome, looking forward to the pics. I guess I should start looking at this as well. I might just do the active EMGs. Any one swap out for active EMGs on their Studio?

Hey Schecter Junkie's!

Just wanted to let you guys know, stflbn just aquired a brand new out of production Schecter CV-5 from me. This one is a bit different than what Schecter is doing now.

This is a brand new, Schecter CV-5 Bass, made in 2006 in a black cherry quilted finish with Duncan Designed pickups.

I had learned from them that they only produced a handful of these basses as a prototype of sorts for specific markets between 2004 and 2006. When they got their exclusive deal with EMG to use their electronics the CV-5 basses made with the Duncan pickups were discontinued and the EMG stocked Schecter C-5's took their place. A few of you guys apparantly have that model.

Now also in 2006 they made less than 10 of these basses and unlike 2004 and 2005, the 10 they made in 2006 came with the retro-type headstock found on the Schecterbockers!! In the other 2 preceding years they used the standard J headstocks. So one's very rare, and is probably the only one in Brand New condition. This bass comes with the Duncan Designed Jazz and a Duncan MM humbucker pickup with a slap switch. Also unlike the new C-5's, the CV-5 has a 3-band eq

The slap switch is really an interesting concept. Functionally speaking it's a lot like my Pedulla Thunderbolt bass. So when the slap switch is in the off position, the bass has that vintage Fender Jazz-like sound you would expect from a Duncan pick up. But when you engage the Slap Switch, the bass all of a sudden assumes a full-on percussive sound that would be a slap-master's dream come true.
