so far every picture on Google of a seafoam green bass or guitar has brown tort, red tort, black or parchment pickguard
but I like this
reminds me of something you would see on an old Chevy Bel Aire
or Ford Galaxie
The more I look at mint, the more I think it would clash. I think I'm leaning towards either black, brown tort, or black abalone. I don't have any pics of that, but here's the pic I did with the abalone. Bit rough but I was just looking to see what it would be like.I actually took the pickguard off earlier this evening and it looks awesome without anything. I may just leave it off.
Wow, abalone looks much better than I expected.
I forgot that they're be no routing under it, I'd leave it off then, thats easier, looks good, and is free!
Pickguards aren't cheap! If I use a pick I never pick over the pickguard anyway, but closer to the bridge. If I had a clear pickguard it would give me something to fill the screw holes with, but you don't really notice the holes too much from a few feet away. I'll take a few pics of it tomorrow when there's some natural light.Good point.
The only time I've ever scratched a pickguard is from slapping.

Just decided to run in the other room and take a pic, since I still had the camera out and a Photobucket window.

Other than it's a little heavier than I like. It's really nice. The other nice thing about it is that it's been played and has a couple of little dings on it already. So I don't have to worry about being too careful with it.

Seriously, with a brown torte or abalone pickguard such as you posted earlier it would also look nice but that colour looks really good on it's own and I don't normally like anything in the pastel range of colours.
