Hows the maple fretboard on these? I used to play Ibby's all the time, but never had the chance to play one with all maple.
I'd say that the 5 peice neck on this thing is great! when i got it (after much anticipation) i showed my band and the guitarist (whos like crazy about guitars)- the first thing he said was "f*ck me thats a nice neck!" haha it came at a low price too, about £250-£300 will get you one and i highly recomend!!

This is a Sandberg JM4. I bought it just after I bought the PM4 (The Butter Precision on the right) but this bass is for sell cause I do prefer the vintage tone of my fender. More pics are available HERE

this is a very simplified answer but basically a piezo system uses electricity to pickup string vibrations. Usually the piezo system are located in the bridge where the vibrations are more prevalent.
This system was first popular in cellos and violins and came into
the mainstream on guitars like the Parker Fly adding an nearly acoustic tone to an electric guitar.Bass companies like Musicman, Carvin and Rick
Turner and others started adding the option to their basses

No, a bass/guitar piezo is a kind of transducer (sp?) that senses pressure variations (usually by means of a quartz pad located on the bridge saddle) that happen when a string vibrates and makes them an electrical signal that can feed a preamp.
