hahah indeed waiting by the door watching for that brown box truck to roll up, hoping the box looks like it survived the journey as he heaves it up the driveway.

Nearly moved on that one flamed sunburst U.S. hollowbody that sold on here like a week ago. kinda bummed I held off and missed the boat

He he he! Yeah my basses always show up on garbage day. I work at home and hearing large trucks all day keeps me at the edge of my seat:-/ PM me anytime! That was a sweet bass..I almost bought it and I already have one!
different look and different pickups would have been my excuse to my wife these hollowbodies really do it...super comfy to play and tone fer days!

Well, two of them. The ones I play the most nowadays.
Both are about 30 years old Ibanez basses. On the left is a '82 Studio bass and on the right a '81 Roadster bass that spend most of it's 'life' in it's case in someone's attic.

I have a 5-string Mexican Fender J-bass.
Just yesterday my drummer had some fancy checkerboard duct tape and asked me "How much do you trust me?" I said with my life and he told me to take off my pick plate, knobs, electronics cover and bridge and he exchanged my 2 black knobs for 2 white knobs off a Fender Starcaster. and while i cleaned down my fret board he did this....

He did a great job with the duct tape, all line up, no bubbles, very clean around edges. I'm looking for a new pick plate anyway because it was scratched. Now I'm just looking for a pick plate to just customize and play around with because how nice it looks

aww. i heard that they made a few(literally just a few)T-40's in a light blue like that and i was thinking this was one... and i wondered why no one made a fuss....
Hi, Stu here. A newbie with a question or two. I have inherited this bass which I gather is a 19th century orchestral, three stringer.I am wondering whether it would be worth renovation.
I sent pic's to Bomhams auction house who suggested it would fetch between £800 to £1200 in an auction, but for that kind of money I would rather doll it up and keep it.
I must confess that I am a guitarist who occassionally plays bass...I hope that doesn't make me a bad person here.
So if any of you guys could shed any light as to the manafacturer of this bass I would be grateful.
Who knows, I may be sat on the Stradivarius of double bass here. Cheers folks.

Time to show one of my dearest possessions: a custom made six string p/j by a no-name Austrian luthier. I was never really keen on six strings, but my bass teacher, this bass' first owner, insisted THIS was the instrument I was looking for. He actually lent it to me for six months so I would be able to try it out and get accustomed to its feel, before selling it to me for a ridiculously small price. After just over one year I have to admit he was right: I wouldn't part with this baby to save my life!
