Hmmmm. It shouldn't be too hard to run it off the preamp battery. Either that or just put an 18v battery box in and run it off the second 9v.

Not sure how you guys get the photos to appear decent size. Every time I try they only appear as thumbnails.
My collection is an Heirloom PRS (#11), a couple of Midi Roscoes, A Rob Allen, a custom Andrew Blake, some Fenders and a custom Viola Bass which I designed and had built - which has a Line 6 Transplant. It was finished by Keith Roscoe. There is also a Warwick Alien and a couple of other surprises....

I thought of running the LEDS off of the preamp battery, but I don't want to drain that just to run the lights. I just realized I may be able to fit the battery in the electronics cavity. I'm trying to avoid making any physical modifications to my bass.

actually,what i did was i put the battery for the lights in the electronics cavity. the wires from the neck power one section. they go into the preamp battery panel then through the wall on the inside to the electronics cavity. the wire for other section of lights comes up from the bottom into the cavity. then to a switch and battery. i positioned the switch so i can turn them on and off with my leg
I'm sold
It'll be a bit more to do for me as I'm planning to use my jazz bass (no rear compartments) but I figured a read-route and a toggle in the control plate for on/off. I don't mind the mod myself so much.
Last question! What lights are you using? For reference sake

If you go to Superbrightleds.com look for the flexible led strips. They come in a variety of colors. You should only need about 3 strips. I only used 2.5 You can cut them every 3 inches or so, but once you cut them you can only use the one that has the wire.
