It is not as easy as a typical Fender ,or any that uses an adjustment screw lol. But with patience it’s doable. It has 2 side lock screws that squeeze the saddles together to lock them from sliding. Unlock that then tap the saddle block into correct position. Just did it today and all good. Not a perfect design but its big brass construction does add to it’s great tone and sustain. So set it and forget it.
That's a good question! If I'm honest, I'm not 100% sure what it is. The best I can figure (thanks to the good people here), is that it's some variation of an Aria SB-505.

One of the most noticeable differences at first glance, is mine has a bolt on neck. I bought it new in 2005 and it's a fabulous bass, both playability and tone wise and it's one of those lifetime keepers for me. It is however suffering lately with some neck problems, it's going to a luthier soon for some surgery.
I know I know...That’s our man SNCpre in there. Its a ‘00 NS2000. Bought this one new in ‘00. Did a set up today and put it back to rest.

This is the joke setup with my church band. The top bass is a 32" scale Warmoth build, and the bottom bass is my 30" scale G&L Tribute Fallout bass.

Had a spa day for Betty White and Jazzy McPbody. Polishing frets, oiled a board and strings. And all in pajamas so yeah.
Here are my 2 holdouts: 63 P and not sure when 70's Jazz.
The P bass is going to get its original bridge and tone pot back once I actually dig them up. It will keep its 20+ y.o Deep Talkin Flats.
Also just added a John East J tone preamp to theJazzbass It sounds great and is versatile. It has attenuation for each pickup so I'll probably reinstall the original single coils, which were kinda quiet.
Anyway, am super stoked that I held on to these two and playing again is a gas! Cheers-

Another cheap bass I picked from a local pawn shop, turns out its got a warmoth neck and fender electrics. not bad for £65

Sure. But what I really want to know is:
Why did they put the string tree in the wrong place on the original prototype?
I guess the real question would be….. why did they decide to move it ?
Maybe it has has something to do with the strings being placed between the poles rather than directly over top of them. There are also 10 rather than 8.
This design is very unique as far as StingRays are concerned.
