recently had my 2021 grandadburst AM PRO II refinished in nitro. before the paint job it was 8.8Ibs, now it's 8.6.
also swapped out the stock v-mod II for a lollar.
now i'm in p-bass HEAVEN.
sounds fantastic, although i guess the finish won't be for everyone

I picked up the gray Peavey today. Also got the Ibanez and the Fury iv up and running. So I'm up to 5. They are, top row l-r

That is in exceptional shape for a '76. Barely looks like it's been played. Good find!
The red one is very nice but the metal flakes is one of a kind !
The red one is #001 , one of 2 ever made by my old friend Paul “Pittman “ Slagle before he passed.
The Marty Bell blue/ silver burst has a aluminati neck. The Gibson Alpine white rainbow sparkle is a very rare Matoba Wataru SG.
Is that a mirrored fretboard on that P? That deserves a pic full-on. Wow!

Thank you! That neck I snagged here. Its fantastic. It is hollow and super light. That body also scored here and the very hard to get Gotoh bridge. The body was a mim 50’s iirc. That has a Duncan spb2 hot in it. Great pickup actually. Cheers

Top pic (left to right) - 1983 Squier JV Jazz, 2023 AVII ‘54 precision (my newest fascination), the inimitable blue Bomber - a double p made by John Wymore back in 2002, and a 1989 AVRI ‘62 precision.
Bottom pic: early SX Jazz (going to my nephew a little later this summer), 1981 Yamaha BB400, my $99 guitar center score 1967 Hofner 500/1, and a passive 2005 Ernie Ball Music Man SUB 5
Not pictured is an Olympia acoustic. This is the most stable my collection has been in years. The Black Rose Custom double p is my consistent #1, but I play them all as often as possible.
Now I just need to find myself another band…

My collection thus far - I've told myself I will only have a max of 20. I am entirely a hobbyist and use them for stress-relief lol. All are strung with Ernie Ball cobalt flatwounds. Apologies for the terrible photos. Some day I will do an actually photoshoot.
Ibanez SR1350b - B standard tuning. Honestly a little too light for my liking but I'm reticent to part with it because it plays so nicely and has a wonderful finish. Especially the fretboard. Also not a fan of the gold hardware on the higher end SR models so an "upgrade" isn't justifiable either.
Yamaha BBP34 - Added a Nordstrand warm and woolly J blade pickup which coincidentally matches the fret markers. Excellent sound and finish.
EBMM Stingray Special (Hot Honey) - Best neck out of all of these. The bass definitely necessitated lighter gauge strings because the E string was so boomy even when lowered. Would love to hear how people set the EQ because I continue to tinker with it. Also debating about picking up a drop tuner and a black or white pickguard.
Gibson EB bass (2014) - Under $1000 for a discount thunderbird made by Gibson? Heck yeah! Neck is set and put pretty far from the body so it's still kinda a reach. I have fairly short arms so that makes me even more glad I didn't go for a full on thunderbird.
G&L CLF Research L2000 - Sweetwater had this one for sale at $1300 in 2024. Wanted a tobacco finish one but the cost was too good to pass on it. Wonderful array of tones and you can really see how Mr. Fender synthesized all of his past designs into this beast. RIP G&L.
Warwick GPS Corvette (2006) - Found this one in Nashville as a passive version. Swapped the electronics for the active MECs and two band preamp. Great tone but what a weighty fella. Roughly 11 1/2 lbs.!
Guild Starfire II - Newest member of the group. Extremely odd scale length so friendly fyi to watch out for that. I have yet to figure out how to organize the separate independent volumes alongside the master volume but I imagine there is a reason for the design. Definitely open to suggestions there.
Rickenbacker 4003w - My island bass with the most modifications. TV cooker knobs, toaster pickup, treble bezel, and the zero-mod thumb rest. Tuned to C standard for doom metal tones of course : )
