Pretty cool.couple updates to my squier cvp "stella". Changed out the maple/rw neck for a maple with black binding and black blocks and got a black pg to match. im diggin it, what do u guys think?

How do you like the gold Gibson? Haven't encountered one in real life. Just curious what you like\don't like.
NBD day - MIJ Fender jazz, 1989-1990!
It's a nice guitar, it's light weight and has a good feel. It stays in tune very well and I like the tapped coil pickups. You can get some nice tones out of it. The only thing I don't like about it is that if you turn the volume controls for the pickups up all the way it doesn't sound good, it gets a kind of distortion. Throttle them back to 8 or 9 and it sounds great. Up until about six months ago I hadn't played in many years but my talented guitar player nephew was certainly impressed with it. I always liked Gibson basses and wish I still had the Victory (that thing weighed a ton) and Explorer I had in the late '80's and early '90's.
My No. 1 is a neck-through, 5-string Peavey Grind with a mildly interesting history.
The previous owner broke the headstock along the holes for the tuners and did an amateur, yet adequate repair job. It languished in Badlands Pawn in Sioux Falls for several months with an asking price of $600, marked down to $450.
According to a friend who worked in the music department there, no one would buy it because of the repaired break in the headstock.
Her name is "Blondie" for obvious reasons.
You can sort of see the crack along the left side of the headstock in line with two of the tuners. When I acquired it the tuners were at odd angles due to the crack running through the small screw holes. I realigned them at a different angle and drilled new screw holes so it looks more uniform.
Now for the mildly interesting part. In 2016 Badlands Pawn hosted a concert every Thursday. One of those bands was Steppenwolf. The bass player, Gary Link, had some problem with his backup bass and grabbed this Peavey Grind off of the wall of the pawnshop and used it for several songs.
When the music department closed up in August Badlands marked everything way down and I scored the Steppenwolf bass for $160!

I'm not sure what's more impressive, how many Peavys you have or how many bass straps you have.
