Gorgeous. What about a black pickup? and the neck, is that baked maple? I'm looking for a late 70's Sabre.
I thought those were neck through. Ged didn't use his for very long. Did somebody add a shim? gorgeous.
Can't really go by serials, they will give you within 6 months or so and they can be swapped easily. Pot codes are the most accurate as long as they're original. Pickup bobbins/stamps. Logo's are a very accurate as well for the early ones.
This is my Squire Affinity made in China with Fender custom shop 60s in which I soldered myself. I've tried so many bases but I don't like em. It's probably that my hands are so used to this bass plus the Fender custom shop 60s pick ups just sound sooo good. Does anyone else have a set up like this? I don't like any other basses, even very expensive ones. In my opinion high end bridges and "craftsmanship" are negligible and I'm also poor. 
There's no doubt about it. What you have is a beautiful looking instrument. Compare that to this Flea Signature Jazz I received new last week from the local G/C. Whoops. No pix. Doesn't matter because I'm returning it for a used G&L JB, metallic grey. I can say with certainty I lost all my interest in Fender's stuff. They're too spattered across the universe with Squire and Standard and Mexican and Pro and Custom shop stuff that is really no better than stock EB MM's or G&L's from what I'm reading. Sure. I would love to have that Paladino model but why? I ain't him and I'm damned sure I can get enough of what I need and want to warrant the extreme cost. I can make any instrument sound funky with one exception -- MTD's. Too precise...Hi, yes they are D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewounds. (.50, .65, .85, .105) No alterations to the nut, no reset up for intonation needed either. I just took off the factory strings, and strung it with the Nylons. I use them on everything.

Just got me a new Schecter Michael Anthony signature a week ago to go along with my dUg Pinnick signature I purchased 6 months ago. For the $$, Schecter is producing amazing exceptional instruments. The thin nut/neck and Monster Tone Pickups make this unique, IMO. I already personalized my MA to my taste with a custom cream pearl pick-guard I fabracated yesterday. It's such a pleasure to play. Pictures stock and with new pick-guard.

I've always wanted a Spector bass so I picked this baby up yesterday.... I wasn't sure how great she'd sound being one of the lesser expensive models they make .... I was psyched when I got her home and plugged her in. This Spector Core IV is a beautiful bass (the F hole cutout is a classy touch IMO) and she puts out a bright, fat, deep tone which really pleasantly surprised me, the neck feels great too..... This is a great bass for a $650 price tag.
