Love the fretless.. What ingredients did you use to cook that one up?
By parts...
Bridge: Gotoh
Body: From a Harley Benton Black Jazz Bass
Pickups: Dimarzio DP123 with a parallel/series switch
Pickguard: Goldo jazz bass style
Neck: Really don´t know the origin. When I got it, it already had that "strange" head. Was converted to fretless using superglue CA. Got 6 or 7 layers on it
Tuners: Some Chinease tuneres. I intend to get betters.
At the moment I have the fender 9050 flatwound strings.
The bass sounds really great and I think that is the most important aspect of it.
Awesome. My next DIY bass project is in fact an all black fretless.. Maybe a wacky cool pickguard
Go for it. I was going for a White Pearl but ended with with Black one. If o want some colour in the future o Will also Go for some wacky pickguard.

Awesome basses. Like my grandfather would say, You can have any color you want as long as it is black.
What is that you like about the bongo? There's something there. Guy's who use Bongo's Love Bongo's, it's not just another bass.
The reflex is unfamiliar to me but as much as I love stingrays I'd choose the bongo as well over it.
Can you give us a comparison to the reflex?

Here they are. Nothing spectacular, but each one has it's charms. I want to add a neck thru hippie sandwich, but I know I would be disappointed in anything but another Alembic. Also want a Fender CS heavy relic P.

All I can think of is Shaggy and Scooby Doo bonding... in a weird way...
The construction style invented (arguably) by Alembic of multiple laminates, and has now been used by just about everybody, is called 'The hippie sandwich'. Neck thru, of course means one continuous piece (or laminated pieces) from the headstock to the tailpin.
