This is a mystery bass, or at least I can't figure out who made it. I can't find anything with the same shaped headstock. Body looks carvin-ish. It could have been home made I guess. Any other clues on it as to where it was made? Where did you find it?

Ha! It's a cough, cough...kit. Saw the attached picture once upon a time and then I bought this kit a couple years ago. Fun project and actually plays pretty good. Those Delano pick ups sound pretty great! Dead quiet too. Brass bridge & nut add a nice ring.

The basis of this one is PB of Fender Japan made in 2006 to 2008, collected from parts from various bases and made.
Dimarzio WILL POWER NECK, Middle is carried in the pickup.
From the top, each knob is a master volume, neck / middle pickup volume for channel 1, neck / middle pickup volume for channel 2.
Bottom volume can be adjusted with the neck side pickup, the tone circuit has been eliminated.
Channels 1 and 2 can be switched with the toggle switch.
Other mod points have been replaced with Hipshot's kickass for the bridge, D-Tuner for the 4-string tuning key, and brass neck plate.
Pickguard imaged "Monster of Frankenstein" as a base made from gathered parts and arranged rivets of copper on the patch of red tortoiseshell and brown tortoiseshell.
Pickup and the circuit are connected by the QI connector, it is possible to remove the brown tortoise portion of the pick guard and replace the pick guard completely with another circuit without soldering.
In the future I plan to be able to replace the circuit with the preamplifier.

No worries with your English either, it's excellent, perfect honestly, your use of passive voice past perfect is impeccable, that's something that's really tough in a second language. My first language is English and Spanish is my second language. I always appreciate speaking with native speakers of Spanish, so whenever someone is ESL (English as a Second Language) I try to return the favour so to speak. Seriously your English is actually better than many native speakers of the US.
I'm a little jealous because you guys in Japan always get the cool special edition basses!
The orange one is a custom build and my go to gigging bass. Assembled from parts I purchased off eBay.
Thanks! You'd love the way it sounds and plays. On par with any American fender I've ever played. Gotoh bridge, stacked pots controlling DiMarzio PUs. You can't really tell it from the photo, but it's painted with an orange metal flake.
I'm jeal!! I have an MIA body in Chrome Red (which is more like an orange) but I just don't jive with it
Paired my 93 jazz neck (brass nut, schaller liscenced stock tuners) with a vintage modified body, with a 82 neck plate/grommet. La bella flats. Sorry I didnt cut the silks! Wire clippers at elsewhere.
Photos dont do the nice yellowing on the neck and body justice.
Very resonant neck and body. This neck just 'has it'. Its interesting how when I first got the neck in 2003 I was too novice to notice the areas in which it excels. As you get more experienced, you notice subtle things. Sort of the same subtleties that make some vintage instruments great, and some just okay. This neck feels as good as any vintage fender neck, and has a beautiful dark piece of rosewood.
