So far so good. It replaces a Spectorcore5 that I had. The setup is real low for max mwah and the piezo tone is not too brittle with an even output. The side dots are in the right place so it's easy to find your position and it's lightweight an balances well. It gets its gig debut Saturday night so I can speak more to it then.
Accidental NBD! Was on Clearance at the Music and Arts where my kid has music lessons. I'd played it every week while I waited for almost 2 months and now they dropped the price from $199 to $129, I couldn't say no.

Cool! Thanks for the input. I really like the organic appearance...sorta like a stand up. I'm intrigued.
I have the fretted version. Ibanez did something special with these models. It has a unique tone. I bought it because I wanted something that could come close to the Steve Swallow signature. I have it with a high C. It's perfect for Jazz and Fado.

Just completed another Warmoth build. The only thing I like more than playing basses is building them.
For this build I went with tried and true components and didn't branch out much. Nothing unconventional other than perhaps the KSM bridge.
Here's the specs:
Neck: Warmoth J5 Deluxe Neck w/ graphite stiffening rods - Bubinga finished in Tru-Oil
Body: Warmoth J5 Deluxe Body - Black Korina stained with Keda red dye and finished in acrylic lacquer
Frets: Mandolin Frets (6230)
Electronics: John East Uni-Pre 4 knob preamp, John East Battery Life Indicator
Pickups: Nordstrand Big Single in EMG40 size covers (gives me lots of options if I ever want to change them versus J size routes)
Tuners: Hipshot Ultralights (USA)
Bridge: KSM Foundation
Strap Locks: Schaller
Weight: 10lbs
Scale: 34"
John Scott of Bluesman Vintage Guitars installed neck inserts to allow the use of machine screws. He also provided a cold rolled steel neck plate to withstand the additional pull of the machine screws.
I think she turned out pretty nice.

Played it at rehearsal last night for the gig this Saturday. Very pleased. The side dots make finding your position a breeze and the sound is great. A couple times sounded way out, but it turned out the guitarist put the capo on the wrong fret and then the guitar he switched to was slightly out of tune! I really like the upright vibe from the appearance, too. Should fit in well on an acoustic gig.

How was the balance with a strap? Been looking at snagging one of these.
It balances really well. I just had to worry about where to put my fingers and not keeping the neck where it should be.
