The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

A very worn G&L.
Refinished '69 precision.
Cheap but brilliant Harley Benton MB4.
Some weird unbranded thing, possibly an Ibanez, not sure. Fairly cheap and cheerful but plays well enough.
Acoustic bass, brand name eludes me.
Daughters J&D 3/4 size JB.

Just got a 1992-3 MIJ Fender Jazz bass. Has some type of preamp and came with a case. Got it at Sam Ash for a very reasonable price. Manager said it might be a Sadowsky preamp, but not sure. View attachment 4103512 View attachment 4103513
That’s a Marcus Miller signature. He had a Sadowsky pre-amp. Yours has a Fender version stock. It may have been changed though.

I won’t ask because I don’t want to be tacky but I’m glad you got it for a good price! Being able to find these is difficult to begin with, and when you do they’re expensive. Big time congratulations! I’m also very jealous.

Finally finished my project. Last year at this time I picked up this SX for $100. It is one piece of beautiful, translucent blue ash.

This year I totally rebuilt it,
-a roasted maple neck from Warmoth
- Schaller black tuners
-Gotoh black bridge
-Bartolini b-axis pups
-Dunlop strap locks
- Fralin control plate
-Strung with D'addario flats

Looks, plays and sounds like everything I've been dreaming of, all for about $ 800 total investment.

Beautiful! I have been looking for a jazz body in that color and can never seem to be able to find one

Man, that's a Fender Marcus Miller. The preamp is Marcus signature preamp that he developed with Fender. That's one of the best active Jazz Basses ever made, IMHO.

I think I found it. Ibanez SRH500F ?
yes that's it!! It really plays beautifully, and while it doesn't sound exactly like an upright (nothing does) it does have a beautiful acoustic tone and mwah for days. It came beautifully set up from the factory and has a very thin and fast neck. It is also extremely light; like 5 pounds or less. We are still getting to know each other but I would highly recommend this bass!!
