Hi everyone.
Relatively new here.
But here is my latest bass.
Started with a 5 string DIY kit. Made it into a narrow spaced 6 string. 15mm at the bridge.
I had to fill and redrill some of the holes in the headstock to reposition the tuning keys and add one.
Pickups are the Fishman Mike Inez 5 string set. I modified the wiring and added a second switch.(One for each pickup )
That way I can access both voicings in the Inez neck pickup and all 3 voicings in the Fluence bridge pickup. Or any combination of each. Push pull on the volume accesses the single coil mode for both. I also set the bridge pickup to access the bridge side coil in single coil mode. Comes set for the neck side coil from Fishman. I might add a switch at a later date to select between the two. Time will tell.
Cheers
So far I really like them. Very clear and full sound. By full, I don't mean extra low end. The frequency response is very even from low to high. Maybe a tiny bit hot on the very highs. I did have to dial back the treble on the amp compared to my other basses. There was some zing or sizzle on the higher notes. Roll back the treble a little and things calmed down considerably. They are very responsive and articulate. And the sound selections available will not leave you wanting. This of course is my opinion and is all highly subjective to each persons ears. How do you find the Fishman pups?
Headstock goes SWOOSH!
So i just have an ESP LTD B-4E Mahogany that I bought recently. I just picked one that I though looked cool and had great reviews because im not what youd call a disciplined bassist. Anyway I think it sounds great but sometimes people say something sounds terrible while i think it sounds pretty nice so just take the things i say with a grain of salt.
Ignore the state of my room I have a small desk area and the desk chair scrapes the paint off of the wall. Also I chose these paint colors when I was in 4th grade and in retrospect ill admit it's a bit muchView attachment 4138753
Also for the record I dont only play metal, I actually rarely play metal.
Idek where the whole "ESPs are only good for metal" thing came from
