sory for copying from the bass moding club... i love to mod all of my basses. some little and some more. to match to my taste in looks, sound and playability.
maybe its came from ocd for small details, sound pursue, gas and also i used to build model kits of airplanes, tanks and vehicles in my youth and some of it left. and i found the modding creative. just another channel to creativity and art sense..so why not? :)
here are some of my modded basses.

this is a small acoustic indian givson acoustic guitar that i reassigned into fretless acoustic bass.

My main bass at the moment. 84' Peavey Foundation. Copper plated hardware. D'addario acoustic strings. Roland GK-3B external midi pickup. Had to make a guard above the pickup because my heavy handed playing was eating into the wood.View attachment 541152 View attachment 541153 View attachment 541154 View attachment 541155 View attachment 541156

Gallifreyan, nice! Now what does that translate too? I could figure it out, but it's a hassle. That's a sweet bass, I bet it plays great!

I only have two basses at the moment and here they are both.

The sunburst one is my five string Jan Knooren Custom, which has a flamed maple top and cherry wood back with a Bartolini pre amp and a Harry Haussel musicman pickup, it's easily the best sounding bass I owned. Despite that I don't really play it that much since I don't like the feel of a five string bass.

The Blonde one is the bass I made in tribute to my father, which came from a toy instrument he made me when I was a kid. It has a body from flamed maple, cedrella (Spanish Cedar) and flamed maple back, Harry Haussel J-pickups with musicman coils and an all passive circuit. It sounds like an angry Rickenbacker.

how is that mesa prodigy?
They look very interesting.

this one is technically the bigger brother, the "Strategy" ... one is known as a 4:88 and the later 8:88 for the number of KT88 tubes they have..

I've played both and they're very similar in tone, with the Strategy having a bit more clean headroom. I am VERY pleased with it, the tone and the clean volumes I can get. Check out our Strategy / Prodigy thread for more info, the link is in my signature block.
