Thanks---that Ric also has the checkerboard binding, not so evident in the picture. Crazy thing is I got this in 2000 while in Miami---I saw it, liked the way it looked and traded my 1985 4003 plus $400, costing about $1150 total (I bought the bass with the case for $750 back in 1985). I had no consideration of its current or potential value---I just thought the binding was cool! It was a couple of years later that I discovered that I had an investment as well as a great sounding and cool looking bass. The value of the bass has tripled or quadrupled since then--really in the past 5 years. Now I am afraid to take it out of the house to play anywhere! I am going to have to find an old beat up Ric that is structurally and electronically sound.
