Can't beat 2 basses for 40 bucks though!:hyper:

I got the Peavey free (good condition too) and the Squier for 40$ because the previous owner dropped it and chipped the bottom corners. Other than that it seems to be alright. I do understand why the squiers are considered cheap basses though. I removed the pick guard (one layer compared to three layer on the PV) to check the wiring and all of the solder joints were either cracked, cold or non-existent. One terminal on the volume pot just had the wire wrapped around the lug with no solder...

i tried them out but i like the heavier gauge sunbeams better. they play amazing on the spector. my shop was out of them when i went to get strings for the fender i was disappointed.

Thats good to know. My Peavey has what looks to be the same strings on it judging by the multicolored ring-things (what are they called anyway?). The basses last owner put them on, about a year ago right before i got the bass. They sound dark with alot of lowend to me... Planning on putting some Blue Steels on, maybe a lighter guage.

I'll try to record some clips when it comes in, and that pickup is really two sets of split coils, wired to give me a 'big-regular-P-bass' setup, a 'reverse-P setup', or both sets in series, and both sets in parallel. :cool:

Two split-coils in one housing, with multiple coil-selection options (see above). :cool:
