Maybe it's kinda cheesy to take your camera to the zoo and take pics of the animals but it's a lotta fun! It's also good practice for me. Two shots I got today:

There's a lot more to a good photo than sharpness of course but I feel like this guy is about to jump out at me. Handheld because VR is an amazing thing. Click for slightly larger:

I haven't gotten out of my house much with my new D7000 but I've done some shots around the house just to get a feel for the camera and how to use it. I've taken about 300 shots but maybe 20 came out nicely and of those 20ish here are a few that I like. I'd definitely like to know what you guys think. Also, it looks like I'm getting a bit of vignetting in some of my pictures, what would be the best way to stop it? I'm not using the lens hood.

Haha, it is now I just need to learn how I can be as awesome as it is. Spent a long time on this decision and I think I made the right choice.

No flash and I'm not exactly sure what you mean by wide angle setting. Wouldn't that only apply o wide angle lenses?

Yep that's it. So would the vignetting be just a part of the lens? Would a filter help? Is is my only option to use a higher f stop?

If you have the time, create a custom lens profile for your lens/camera combinations: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

After your lens profile is created, you can apply the profile to your shots by Camera Raw or Lightroom.

It takes care of any problems such as aberrations, warping, vignetting etc.

Great for architecture shots.

And it's freeeee :)

Nice job Kwesi. Sooner or later camera companies are going to replace the "incandescent" white balance setting with a "CFL" setting :D

We Got Snow,...then the sun came out the following day and with temps in the teens the snow is not melting.

The above two overlook Latah Creek,...a 60 mile long stream (aka Hangman Creek) that empties into the Spokane River just northwest of the bridge pictured.

This is Coeur d'Alene park and was founded about 100 years ago. Historical pictures show these trees as saplings. This park is about a block from my apartment and also where my wife and I tied the knot.
