My new Warwick (not really that new!). 1990 SS1. Actually cant decide what to do with her. Plays great and sounds great but the neck is very slim like a Fender Jazz (wasn't expecting that). Nice and light. I've been playing 19mm 5 strings for the last 10 years or so but want to be lazy in my cover band and went for a four! Will give it a chance I think cause it is an awesome bass. Sorry about crappy pics.

I just bought this baby a week ago:
A Streamer LX 5 1999, used but in very good condition.
with gold hardware and EMG active J/J pups.

Yup, the fretboard dots are the custom option :) IMO it's a strange decision to build a bass from the ground up just to put some dots on the fretboard, but it's Warwick's policy and oh well, I don't mid the "custom shop" logo, although being kind of silly due to the nature of the "option" :)

That's a great looking bass! The grain on that maple is impressive.

The Aguilar OBP-3 is a great sounding preamp, and should work well with the active pickups. If you have passive pickups in the bass (they look like the MEC active pickups, so I'm guessing probably not), the Audere preamp is also very nice. I just sold a Corvette FNA Jazzman that came stock with a Seymour Duncan 3-band preamp, and it sounded great too.

If you like filter-based preamps (think Wal basses), the ACG/EAST EQ-02 filter-based preamp is great (I just put one into my Corvette along with a Nordstrand jazz neck pickup paired with a Darkstar pickup at the bridge), and it sounds pretty good.

Also, if you don't want to tear apart your bass, you should consider giving some outboard preamps a try, such as the Aguilar Tone Hammer, which is based on the OBP-3 preamp.

No, Baryonix, I didn't mind the extra price (which was not that big of a deal anyway, just around 100 euros more); but it's not about the money, it's about paying for an item to be designed the way I want. And tbh the decision to have fretboard inlays was taken because of the specific way the Thumb balances - its natural tendency to shift to the left that gives the impression you're playing a bass with a longer scale than the actual one - so the transition would be smooth, 'til my finger memory readjusts to the new fretboard positions.

Hey all,

I just ordered some black tuner machines and a black bridge assembly for my 1998 Warwick Corvette Std Fretless. It should look pretty cool once it comes in - I'll pick up the knobs locally. I'll post some pics once I receive the hardware & install it.

I on a long-term travel assignment for work & only hvae one bass with me - I really miss my Warwick - my Pedulla is super nice, but having both would be optimal!

I just picked up this 1995 LE Corvette Standard.:hyper:

I will go on record saying that I have always hated Warwicks (except the 1997 Fortress Masterman I once owned) but this one is a great sounding bass. No, it can't do a Jazz or a Stingray, but that is why I bought it. What a great bass for metal and even blues/classic rock.:bassist::D
