I had the nut on my '06 Streamer Stage 1 replaced with the brass JAN III. The composite JAN III was fine but whoever put it on used a lot of superglue and as a result it sat too high and couldn't be adjusted any lower. Sure, I could have just had that one re-installed but...

Anyway, I like the new look. Shiny!

Soooooo... I GOT IT! $730 when it was all said and done. NIIIIIIICE.... needs strap loks though. I assume Warwicks from '97 use Dunlop? Or better yet.. I never cared for straploks. Is there a way to get away with using... uh... "non-straploks" on a Warwick...?

my '97 thumb nt had flush mounted dunlops...if your bass has flush locks, it might take some work filling in the holes, but if it has regular locks, it would be as easy as changing the strap buttons, but I don't know why you would want to change them...I've used schallers and dunlops and I've never had any failures on the 20+ basses that I have always equipped with them...I like the dunlops best

Got rid of my Streamer Stage II 4 string and picked up a Streamer Stage I 5 string. I still love Stage II's, and will own another one some day. I've just never owned a Stage I, nor a broadneck Warwick, and must say I am very very pleasantly surprised by how great this thing is. Much better than I had anticipated!

A couple weeks later, and I am still totally in love with my Stage I! Especially now that I've got my normal DR Lo-Riders thrown on and properly set up. It's a little challenging to go back and forth between the standard spacing and broadneck spacing (if I play broadneck first, the standard spacing feels like a toy. If I play the tighter spacing first, then broadneck feels like I'm making huge jumps string-to-string), but otherwise I absolutely love the broadneck. Most of all, though, I love the tone. I just can't get enough of it!

Also, a bump for this aging thread with a bunch of new pics I took today that show the basses much better than my phone pictures did. I want to see more Warwick's, dang it! And if no one else will post 'em, I will!

I recently sold my Warwick Dolphin Pro I 5 String to a fellow TBer in Portland, OR. UPS screwed the pooch on this one. It looks like the driver signed for the user and left the box on the porch. The box has turned up missing / Been Stolen. Here is the link to the TB Stolen Gear posting:

Just received my new-to-me 2008 Limited Edition Streamer LX 4. This thing is freaking beautiful!! Needs some attention on the setup, which I will take care of this weekend once I get it home and strung up with some new strings (the seller apparently never used the spare EMP strings, as they are still new in the box within the user kit, so I'm gonna give those a try first. If I like them, great, and if not, I'll get some Lo-Riders on order to replace them before too long).

For those who are wondering, the woods are:

Madrone Burl top
Walnut center/core
Swamp Ash back
Ekanga veneer between all the layers
Flame maple neck
Tigerstripe Ebony fretboard

Twin J pickups with 3-way selector to choose between rear coil/both coils (humbucker)/front coil. Should give a great range of tones! And the large 3-way selector switch is a pickup selector for bridge/both/neck pickups. It doesn't isolate the others (for example, if the blend knob is on the neck pickup, and then I switch the 3-way to bridge, it doesn't go silent). It just allows a quick change to the selected pickup. Probably won't use it much, as I'm fine using the blend knob. Nice feature to have, though. Otherwise, typical MEC 3-band EQ.

Thanks! Yeah, these are amazing basses. The new Streamer LTD is my 13th Warwick that I've owned, and I can promise you it won't be the last so long as I have anything to say about it! I'll occasionally try other brands, but none of them feel right to me. It's all personal preference, but I find that Warwick necks just feel the most comfortable to me, the shapes fit me best (specifically the Streamer, in case you couldn't tell), and they produce the sound that I want. So why would I want anything else in the end?

I am the same way. I have tried so many different brands over the years and just keep coming back to Warwicks. I have owned closed to 20 and we have 3 right now (I say we because my 21 year old daughter is playing bass and she loves the Wicks right off the bat and does not want anything else)!!!! We have a Streamer Stage 1 5'er, a Corvette Standard Fretless 5'er, and a 96 Thumb BO 4 that is unfortunately for sale right now. But I am like you; if I have anything to say about it, we will have several more sometime in the future!!

Very nice Warwicks Clintonon!!!! Yeah that Thumb NT looks like it would be a beast of a bass for sure. I really like the looks of the others too. Very nice collection!!!

Thanks! What do you think the NT is worth? I'll never sell it, but I feel like I got a crazy deal on it. I could play 100 basses and come back to that NT and wonder why I played 99 basses before getting that one haha.
