Just put a down-payment on a 1997 Warwick Thumb BO 5-string today!!!!!!!!! I should have it in a couple of weeks; I can't wait!

Quick question though: on my two mid-90's Fortress basses, the neck and fingerboard are made of wenge, and the nut is brass. On this Thumb bass, the neck is definately wenge, but it's got a plastic nut. Do you think it was a replacement? Also, when were wenge necks phased out?

It is likely a Just-a-nut II and i personally would recommend swapping that one out for either the new JAN III or the old brass JAN I. I prefer the adjustablilty and tone of the brass JAN I.

As for the Wenge necks i want to say that around '98 they started phasing the wenge necks out.
