The One Finger Salute

I have determined that on a 5 string bass I can’t play low C on the B string and the octave C above it without flipping off the audience.

Go try it.
Wouldn't you just use your index and ring? Like every other position that you would also hit the octave up on?

In that particular position, it's actually 100% more natural to use my pinky. It's already sitting there.

No, unless flipping them off is needed.
