The one. "THE" one. Show us...

My Ken Lawrence:

Nothing else does it for me in quite the same way :smug:

I couldn't agree more. I go through periods where I just play my Sadowsky for weeks and then when I pick up the KL, I just get a huge grin on my face. It's like we have some kind of bond between us. (I think we were lovers in a previous life :D )The playability is unreal, and it has a very wide array of tones. Most people wouldn't think of a high end, boutique bass and a rock monster, but this played played with a pick through a tube amp is simply incredible. Aggressive hardly describes it!

Sound guys have been going nuts over my KL, about how even it is and how good it sounds in a mix....

This is mine. I have a good feeling it always will be. It's soooo solid. If anything played better I wouldn't feel comfortable taking it out (I tend to make occasional stupid mistakes that occur much more frequently when playing out). The stingray can take what I dish to it though... still looks and plays as the day that I first got it (11th grade) and is still serving me daily (just finished freshman year of college). I'm sure I'll get nicer basses, but they're going to be safe in the studio.

Pardon the old rig, this is from our earlier days.

Like most budget bassists out there I jump at every chance I get to go play high dollar basses at the shop. And without fail, every time I walk out of the store I feel as though my humble MIM Jazz at home is going to feel like a complete let down in comparison to what I’ve just played. However, every time I pick it up when I get home, it still feels great – still fits like a glove and still has ME written all over it. That my friends, is love.

My Jerry Jones Longhorn with Neptune Bridge has been my constant companion and #1 for the past 17 years. Well over 2000 gigs on it. Lightweight, shortscale and has the tone.

Sadly the fretboard cannot take another redress and the truss rod isn't working as well as it should anymore. It is now enjoying its retirement in the studio.
