Mine hasn't changed in at least four years. 3 pedals are plenty:

TU2 Tuner > Baddest Bad Monkey OD > Tech21 Boost RVB reverb > amp.

How many "versions" of your pedalboard have you gone through over the years? I swear, since I got into this end of the disease I'm probably on my sixth or seventh complete overhaul.

It'd be interesting to see shots of your earliest boards compared to today's. I'd oblige, but mine is in the middle of [another] transition.

Im on my third (could maybe consider it a fourth).
My first board consisted of two 2' x 2' pegboards with about 5 or 6 different pedals ziptied to the board.

For the second, I had gotten a few more pedals and wanted a classier looking board. Using 3/4" thick plywood I built a base about 3' x 3'. This one had a raised back row, as well as a lid that could fit over it and latch down. It was a nice board, but kind of heavy. I think I had 9 pedals plus an aux switch for my RC-2 looper.

After a while I decided to scale down my pedal usage and went with 4 pedals, all of which fit onto the raised back row of the previous board. You could consider this the third iteration. Soon after that I stopped using pedals entirely.

And that brings me to now. I started up a new band and wanted to bust the effects out again. Im still using the raised back row piece from the previous board, but this time I got some plywood and made something that looks like a breadboard. Its about 2' x 1' and 1/2" thick. Im putting the carpet on tonight and I need a few more patch cables so that I can tidy up all the connections.

I eventually went to a board base with low pile outdoor carpet the Dual lock on bottom of pedals sticks well too. easy reconfigurations on the fly if necessary.

Heck yeah! Thats what I used on my last board, and I just bought a new carpet for my new board.
It was 30" x 20" and cost $4 at WallyWorld. I have some nice industrial strength velcro (hook end) on most of my pedals. I'll either have to trim some off or find some more for my bare pedals.
