How many "versions" of your pedalboard have you gone through over the years? I swear, since I got into this end of the disease I'm probably on my sixth or seventh complete overhaul.

It'd be interesting to see shots of your earliest boards compared to today's. I'd oblige, but mine is in the middle of [another] transition.

sigh

oh yea....it's fun. Mine has stayed the same now for the longest it ever has, but I know it could change again easily. I eventually went to a board base with low pile outdoor carpet the Dual lock on bottom of pedals sticks well too. easy reconfigurations on the fly if necessary.

More iterations, and more money than I care to think about, but ... it's part of the fun, isn't it? :)

The oldest picture I could find is from 2002, it was all about EBS for a while:

The only things left from then are the actual wood board which is now the bottom tier, the
case which has been turned upside down with the lid as base, and the George L plugs.
The current lineup looks like this:

This will not survive the weekend though, I'm thinking about swapping out some dirt, dropping
the chorus and adding back my blender.

Sure man!

Here is my version 1 (01/07/2011)

There are quite a few pedals not shown during intermittent versions, and some versions are simply shuffling around what I already had, just in different locations for trial and such. As you can see, the BMC, Tall Font Russian, and Submarine Designer are my favies! Since I added the Schism and B3K, I have what I consider my sound with this board, plus some.

I'm still on the hunt for another drive pedal though, so yeah, it kinda never ends...

Have fun, and welcome to the illness! :bassist:

Oh Lord, I have probably revamped my board about 30 times since its inception 2 months ago. Before that it was a smaller SKB board that I revamped about 20 times before I realized I needed a bigger board and built one. I will post pics later. Love pedal board threads!

Haha. I don't even know how many revisions there have been. I was looking through the 2nd PYPB thread earlier looking through some earlier posts I made for something and it's crazy to see how far the board has come.

Here's a few pictures. This is far from exhaustive.

Earliest Picture I've still got circa ~May 2007:

Probably my "biggest" board circa ~April 2009:

Pretty happy with the current revision. I'm kinda tempted to drop the Mammoth in favour of another Elements haha, that thing is frigging sick.

i tend to think of it as a journey or process rather than a disease. maybe i'll get to that point, but it feels a long way off at the moment. there's a ton of stuff out there & it takes a while to rummage thru the options & sort out what works together & what doesnt, especially if your tastes are evolving as you go.

pretty happy with the current setup. there are a few things on the lust list i'm curious about (mostly ususal suspect pedals that get mentions around here) but they can wait until theres room in the budget.

in the 2 and a half yrs or so i've been using pedals there have been about 20 to 25 different changes.
the first pic is from 1-13-13
the 2nd is from 5-16-13
the hardwire is gone and the odb-3 is back for now. the hunt for the perfect bass distortion continues.

TOO MUCH BEAUTY!!! :bawl::bawl::bawl:

How are yeh liking the Infanem? I've been eyeing them and Iron Ether but so much money :rollno:

I'm jelly.

I've got a Polytope and Basswitch coming next week for version... seven-ish. I tend to go complex, then simplify, complex, and simplify again. (I think guilt drives that pattern). I'm in my simplifying mode presently hence the Basswitch. I really miss my U5 so hope the Switch give me back some of that DI purity I love for recording. Will post pics of version 1 versus the latest this time next week I expect.

*Vlad... you always have some pretty sick boards, man. Well done Sir!

Thanks guys! I have mostly this forum to thank, really.

The Faye Sing is kinda amazing. It's subtle by itself but with drive/fuzz it's very cool, especially with an expression pedal. With it after distortion, I can rock the treadle back and forth and change the tone of the distortion. Very cool.

I have been using a pedal board since 1980 and i don't even want to think how many changes I have been thru over all those years. My most recent board a LYT F16 has been through about a dozen revisions trying different pedals to get the right mix for me and will soon be replaced by a F24 since I am adding a B3 to the arsenal.

The only constant has been an EHX BassBalls on every one.

I've only been into effects for a couple of years. At first I didn't need a board, then I built one with extra room for expansion, now getting another tier, I swear it's not allowed to get any bigger, find myself looking at micro pedal threads, you know, just in case...

Haha good luck buddy. I started with an SKB that only held 8 max. I thought was going to be totally enough. Then I built my own that can handle up to, I think, around 20 if I played my cords and power right and sizes right. And I only got back into effects 6 months ago. I was into them when I first started playing a while back but I didn't have the money or interest in buying a bunch. Had a few here and there but nothing like today.
