Feels like baby steps, this video thing...but I'm having a lot of fun and it's nice to have some more Pedulla video's on YouTube I think.
The guitar is made by a friend in Spokane, Link Removed. He is an aviation engineer with 40 years of experience who became a guitar luthier. It's the lightest guitar I've ever played (thanks to the chambered body). Stuart says he builds everything 'like it has to fly'.
So it's very light and has NO building flaws whatsoever. It rings very nicely. This video isn't the best showcase of that quality. It really excels in clean stuff, as it's extremely rich in harmonics. Fun fact: it's built in a way that is entirely opposite to how Michael is building: Michael builds by hand and even stopped measuring stuff (the two upper horns of my basses aren't exactly the same in size for instance) and Stuart uses very advanced CNC techniques (the same equipment he uses for propellors) to carve out the bodies. Having an aviation engineer making a guitar, is really something else. He can talk for hours about the nut, which isn't glued but is carved in such a way that it fits the slot perfectly. According to Stu, wood on wood is better for the sound. Also, his frets are compensated in a way that it takes the amount of pressure the push of your finger adds into consideration. 
I don't pay much attention to these details. They intrigue me, but all I have is great guitar that felt like 'me' within 2 minutes.
Stuart Keith Guitars are produced using cad/cam/cnc on production level Haas milling machines. These machines are accurate to within .0003", which is to say that when the machine is told to go somewhere it will arrive there to within one-seventh of a human hair.
Worst thing is: he isn't interested in basses.

Tell him the Pedulla story, that Mike also started out making guitars, but eventually figured out that bass players were a better market because they like and appreciate custom instruments. Guitar players won’t want anything but Fenders and Gibsons!Regards,

This is a 1994 Pentabuzz I bought yesterday. It's paid off but it won't arrive with me until next Thursday. It'll be a long wait!
It's a little scruffy, cosmetically. However, it's in perfect working order and has just been set up by John Diggins of Jaydee Guitars in Birmingham. The sound and feel come first for me but it was appropriately priced given the wear. I fancy that I might play it for a year, and order some new hardware from Pedulla Guitars next year and have the body and neck stripped and refinished in the UK.
In any event, this is the realisation of a dream for me. I first played a Pentabuzz when I was 17 or so and it's been the ultimate fretless for me since.

Did a YouTube video with the '77 Pedulla today! It was an ambitious project: slapping Joe Dart's part (on a Musicman) and rewriting Teen Town's notes (not the rhythm) to match the Vulfpeck chord progression, then play it on the 35" scale Pedulla...

My Pedulla came yesterday and I'm over the moon. It's a privilege to own this bass. I totally agree with the assertion that the 'Buzz is the king of fretless basses. Ever since I last played one, my hands have ached for another. Well, here we are.
My initial impressions are that I had forgot how small the body is. It feels weighty and substantial and balances so well. I could wear this all night. The neck is as smooth as glass and lightning-bolt fast. The balance of startlingly low, clean action and tension for the plucking fingers is just perfect. The tone is divine. Magnificent. Masterful. I barely have the superlatives to do this instrument justice.
It polishes up very nicely. It has a few scuffs and scratches but has obviously been tended to, as every ding is polished over and buffed smooth. They can't be felt. The instrument has a broken-in feeling of comfort and familiarity and some care has obviously been lavished on it by previous owners to restore it's glory.
I have a huge smile every time I open the case.
