When I talked to Mike about the woods for the Nuance. He said he purposely does not seek out the woods with the same character. A good example is the maple for the body. The Atlanta bass gallery ordered my bass and another at the same time. They both arrived the same day. While the bodies are both maple they look different. Mine has a little flame to it but not a ton. But it has some greys and browns mixed in. The other has more flame but no greys or browns. Mike said he likes to pick out wood with interesting character so that each bass will look different and usually sound different even if, on paper, they are the same.
