With respect I did not intend this thread to be for folks who would be upgrading to a $700 bass. It's rather for folks who already have established gear and a project studio that want to be comfortable working for hours.

That being said it is a pricey chair.

why the need to be mean.......? Actually, I only have one bass that's less than $700 (and who said it was an upgrade?).....all my others are over 2K...$700 for an office chair is too much in my book but if I'd won the lottery I'd probably by a few for my friends too....:thumbsup::hyper: so there......and the threads are open to all by the way

of course it is....did I say otherwise? There was no need to say "upgrade" to a $700 bass......I was merely joking....I have a $300 chair that works for me, yes I did put $$ on a good chair, even though I'm retired and a senior with very little $$.....I understand what having a bad back means.....

Funny how so many musicians have back problems. My wife insisted that I get a good chair for that reason.

apology accepted......it was a joke first of all and I do have a $440 bass that sometimes works better than my 3K bass and though I do understand why a good chair is needed (I do have a good one and have a bad back and yes, one must be comfortable if seated for long hours)...not everyone has that much $$ and putting them down for it is not acceptable....these threads are open to everyone

I'm revoking my apology. I'm not sure I deserved to be called mean or accused of putting people down, I simply apologized for my words being taken in a context I didn't intend. It certainly wasn't so you could accept my apology and then continue to take shots at me. I offered it without explanation as to avoid further confrontation.

Let me also add I do not appreciate all the negative comments you've thrown at me in other threads.

A4 Executive

The padded parts are soft yet firm. It's heavy. Everything is adjustable. And you'll notice in the pic that one arm rest is higher than the other. They adjust up and down using a knob on the side. Crank them up for desk work and down for playing. When I got this one I was both in college using for hours a night for homework and doing a lot more gigs than I am now learning bass lines at this chair.

First of all I'm not spending $700 on a chair. Again this is a thread about chairs for a studio and while TB is open to all could you imagine how useless it would be if everyone decided to chime in about what they'd prefer to spend that $700 on rather then a chair?

Now if you didn't have a decent bass and would prefer to "upgrade" your bass rather then buy that really expensive chair that was posted, while not remotely on topic to this thread it at least makes sense. If however you already have a nice selection of basses and a good chair (one that is more expensive then I plan on spending) I really don't understand why you think there was any need to post in this thread.

My post was not intended to offend folks that play a $700 bass, that is what I did apologize for. My post had a snarky tone to it because of my frustration with people (you in particular) that can't help but comment on a thread in a way that is no way relevant to the topic.

You called me mean, snobby and that I put people down. With the last two being after I apologized, you also chose to make three separate comments about me in other threads on TB.

I did report yesterday and ask the mods to remove this rather useless back and forth, hopefully this post is only temporary. I apologize to those interested in furthering the discussion on chairs...
