The perfect shirt for a sound engineer doesn't exi....

It is a dirty job. The one member of the band even less appreciated than the bassist. 
i always got enough respect from the musicians i was mixing, but yeah, civilians could/can really be pests/obnoxious.The one member of the band even less appreciated than the bassist.
Our sound guy is our singers husband. He has a shirt that says “I’m just the sound guy but I sleep with the singer.” I saw a guy once that had a shirt that said “go ahead and give me your advise, just know that I WILL ignore it.”
Not a shirt, but I thought I'd add it, as it covers sound engineers AND bassists!
"Everything Louder Than Everything Else" is my favorite.
In venues with a sound engineer, ALWAYS compliment the sound engineer before you leave... Especially if you plan to re-book there. A band I was in always chatted with the sound guy before we set up, like "dude, what do you need from us?". yup, if your FOH has chops = it's always good to find a way to work with him/her....to make 'em care! 
I saw one a few years ago I liked -They sound as good as JBLs-I promise.
I've always got good results from this one - the only negative comments are from musicians who are on the verge of transition, or techs who haven't fully accepted it yet.
The spouse of the guitarist wants to hear more of their spouse in the mix. The spouse of the vocalist wants to hear more of their spouse in the mix. Then there is always 1-2 people amazed that you can mix everything from an iPad and 1-2 others that give you their food and drink orders.
I like to ask the engineer if I can get a little more talent in my monitors.
