The problem with polygamy...

I was watching this A&E special on it... and something occured to me.

All the women involved are ugly porkers.

If decent looking women were into it, i'd so be there.

Mike, regardless of appearances, pheromones cause women's cycles to sychronize. You'd have several women with PMS all at the same time. You really want that? I don't know how those radical old-school mormons and tribal leaders in remote areas pull it off.

I spent some time in Orem, Utah last summer. I know how they do it. The dudes have multiple houses they live in. They just pick the one easiest to get along with to go home to each night.

I read an article, I think it was in the New York Times Magazine, but I'm not sure. But it talked about this bizarre Mormon enclave in Utah that had kicked out a bunch of the young male population so that there would be plenty of girls for the older men (like teen girls for 50-60 year old men). Up until they were kicked out, the kids had never ventured more than a few miles outside there little enclave. It's frightening how easily these people's minds are warped by their leaders.

I saw that A&E thing too, and the one comment that struck me as most revealing about the whole issue, was when a Mormon minister said, "it has to be done correctly, otherwise it'll hurt more people that it helps".

That's insane, and so true! My girlfriend lives with her mother, sister, and step-sister and their cycles are all roughly the same (or so I'm told..). I can only imagine the pain that the poor step-dad goes through... Do you have any more info on WHY this happens?

As for polygamy, it's stupid. If you want to have sex with many women, just don't get married at all. The whole purpose of polygamy is outdated anyway. I heard that it originated back in the day when single women couldn't own property. Thus, the church made it possible for one man to marry many women, thus allowing them all to have property. Since a single woman has (basically) the same rights as a single man these days, there is no point in it.
