The Random Thought Megathread

I’m talking about a docking station in your bass. A recess with a fixed plug you slide the phone in to and it becomes part of your signal chain.
Good luck on that.
My opinion (worth nothing, yet is a different view) is that with the shape, size and connectors of phones changing so often this would not be something that will be a good fit a few years down the road on your bass.
Like my car's "Phone Connection Input" on my 2013 car, it is the Apple 30 pin jack.

Seven years old and has an Input that is useless for a phone made in the last five years. Yes there are adapters that can be used but on a bass adapters will not work.

Since you want to use the phone as part of your signal chain, like a pedal I recommend it stay in a location with your pedals or on your amp head (as mentioned before) where it can be plugged in for sound signal and also close to power from the amp or pedal board.
Phone in your pocket and just a plug in port on the bass would be something.

Good luck, and if you do make a docking station in a bass I would LOVE to see it completed.

Sorry didn’t mean to give the impression i was seriously thinking about a phone dock as an integral part of the instrument.
a drop in module to replace a 9V with a battery and charger? Maybe, as i have a deluxe J body with a mangled battery cavity from the previous owner epoxying the cover in place after (i’m guessing) they stripped the screws. But yeah, i was just relating a random thought with the mention of a docking station. :D

Do you think they are contibuting to morbidity and mortality because of the current situation?

No barbecues because of a virus....ok:whistle:
No--not talking barbecue--I'm talking massive smoke --making it difficult to breath in my own home.
they are not cooking on it--just sitting around it, the fire is not serving any purpose at all.
I've smelled barbecuing in the neighbourhood.
very different.
Middle of the day & not cooking?
Why? --it infringes on others' rights.

If they were cooking on it--okay.
But they were not.
