The REAL issue!

Hi Janek,

Harmony, transcription, practise, blah blah...

The REALLY important question is, what is a curry like in New York? Can it compete with what we get at home? Do they do the same kind of things? Tikka Massala, Lamb Bhuna, Korma etc etc. Maybe you get a whole new level of curry in New York? Something that they can't compete with at home.

I'd be interested to know.

Regards,

Steve

Hi J-Raj,

I'm saving myself until Monday night when my girlfriend and I are going to have serious curry night. I can't wait!! There is a fantastic Bangladeshi restaurant at the end of our street. It's dangerous!

I had a curry last night in midtown, and it was pretty good. The menus are slightly different here, can't get balti and a couple of other things. And generally when you go somewhere that good, it's not like a regular place in the UK that is small and good, it's more a fusion of north and south indian food, and they're normally a little more upscale and expensive. Trying to be hip and stuff.

Anyway, I think my curry is complaining......... DOH!

Easy,

Janek

Thanks for the info Janek.

Sorry to hear you can't get a balti, that's pretty tough. I'm sure you make the most of what's available there though.

Talking of curry-fusion, bought your album off itunes while away in Germany and wanted to pass on my congratulations. A fantastic album! Looking forward to more.

All the best,

Speckled Jim.

I'm jealous of y'all's access to good Indian food (London and NYC)... Here in the Atlanta Area, the only area that has great Indian food is near Emory University(near Decatur). Due to the fact that they have a greater consentration of Indians in that area.

Boston and the Cambridge area had killer curry (which I miss dearly). Janek, did you ever hit Bombay Club in Harvard Sq., while you were living up there?
