If I'd been lucky enough to have won that I'd have probably used it to make a faux BH getting a new neck copied from my 5L.

However the price for the body would have been most as much as a full 'fish by the time I'd added shipping and import taxes for the UK.

Good luck with your project and I look forward to seeing the results!

They show up now and then (a lot lately thanks to MaddAnthony's fish frenzy) on the TB classifieds, and sometimes on ebay. Others have found them on Craigslist but I've never seen one on my local CL.

Two years ago when I bought my first one, it was a total leap of faith. The local Reverend dealer had never carried them (they focussed heavily on guitars at that store), and so I bought my first one completely "blind" just based on peoples' comments. I figured I could flip it if it wasn't my thing and be out only the cost of shipping.

I got "hooked," and in the time since, managed to snag a few more:

I think I'm done buying Reverends for now, and am planning on keeping the ones I've got. It's possible I'll fall for a rare top and get another one down the road, but I'm putting away my "Fishing pole" for a while.

Good luck in finding one. There may be some in your area that you could try out at a GTG or something; they're not for everyone, but there really aren't too many other basses that sound quite like a Reverend due to the construction.

Its true. As much as I am sure I will like the fish, I don't know how I would work it into our set right now. We don't exactly play 2 hour gigs, and my Skjold is pretty much my sound now.

I do however miss having a bridge pickup around, so I am looking forward to having such a cool #2 at my disposal.

I happen to be one of those involved in the recent fish feeding frenzy and came out a winner. It was a leap of faith based on what I heard on this forum, and I'm not the least bit disapointed!! I love it, it feels and sounds amazing!!!:hyper:

Just keep your eyes open and check here often.

Thanks for the encouragement. That is my plan. I have a buddy who has one and he's let me play it a few times...although I can't get him to budge when it comes to selling it....

The Yellow Fin has landed! Its been nearly 3 years since I owned or played a 'fish and as soon as I plucked that first note, all those good feelings came back. The neck is just as perfect as I remember. I forgot just how resonant these basses are acoustically, it just sings unplugged. This baby is in perfect condition and I am actually more fond of the colour in person then I was in photos. Can't wait to play it at rehearsal tomorrow night.
