I recieved a Contego gig bag-as referenced/pictured sometime back in this thread-today.

IMO, it's not quite as nice as the Lakland/Levis or G&L bag.
It's not as semi-hard as thier site would have you believe, and I don't believe it would provide any more protection than any other decent bag.

So...did any of you canadians have any luck running down those hard cases we were talking about some time ago?

I never heard back on those cases.

I have a Stage 5 Access gig bag that I like a lot, but after seeing all those damaged fish I put mine back in the hard case.

I used to schlep around hard cases--now I use nothing but gig bags w/ shoulder straps--makes for a 1 trip load in/out w/ a 1212L w/ telscoping dolly and a t-funk 420!

I use bags alo; nearly exclusively.
Why? Cause yer basic rectangular case is way bigger than a bag.

Not so with the Rev teardrop case.

However, in the past 6 months, I've seen 6 damaged Revs.
I would gladly trade my Reverend gig bags for teardrop hard cases.
Anyone want one?

There are some 'soft case hybrids' like the gator, road ready, the ones sadowsky and valenti use....that offer better protection than any bag I've ever used....but I'd really much prefer to just have teardrop cases for these instruments.

I've got an InCase slim bag that I seriously think is more protective than my SKB hardshell. It's a serious peice of hardware. And it's teardrop shaped.

However, I don't know if a Reverend would fit in it. This is problably another good excuse for Matt to drag his fish to my house again.

I'd like to get something also to save wear and tear on my original cases.

I've been seriously lusting after the incase dub bag. For a long time.

I'll probably be ordering a Gator ATA case though, since I'm planning on shipping the Dawgfish out to Georgia before our annual family trip.

They've gone down since I bought mine. The newest Sadowsky bag is very similar to mine. They've since updated the slim, and while it's still great, I don't like it as much.

The Dub bag I'm not nuts about. There's some ergonomic and design issues with it that I don't like.

A beer and a cigarette enough of an arm twist? That's about all the energy I've got in me these days.

It could be good times, though. It'll be like the anti-bowlus GTG... All Reverends and P basses and Frankenbasses and Trace and Ampeg rigs, with nary a Celinder in sight. We can all play rock and roll and Ken won't slap any of us.

It's relisted though. $700+ is too much for a Butchered Bass, even if it is an aluminum finished one. But with the Extra Routing, a PJ (or PP!) conversion would be a Cinch!

I won't be doing that-I'm not an overdrive guy, but I have looked at his rotary control loaded with 5-7 different caps for different tones...probably won't be doing that either tho.

I think its much nicer than any Levi's bag I have ever had...can't speak to the others though. It seems much more protective than gig bags I have owned. I think there is a reason the Incase is twice as much.

My primary concern is for accidentally knocking the case into doorways and speakers. I feel much more secure about the protection the Contego offers in that regards than any gig bag I have owned.
