Really pleased for you and that the Triad is the bass you have been waiting for. I felt exactly the same about my two Rev basses. I look forward to gigging them every week. The hardest choice is which one to take out, which I love!!

After a couple of days of using the fat fish, it's quickly become one of my favorite basses. The medium scale feels like home and the pickups are surprisingly snarly sounding. Even more so than the triad, which is smooth by comparison.
Some 10+ years ago I had a few Rumblefish basses that perhaps I should have kept. Two were 4-string, one 5-string. I had added a Graphtec piezo saddle system to one of them that provided many tone options in conjunction with the mag pups (or using either type individually). The one aspect I didn't care for was the metal rest that somewhat dug into my forearm. I have a Reverend guitar that is of fine quality so I somewhat recently thought I'd try another Reverend bass and got a Mercalli 4. As is common, there are none in my neighborhood to test drive so I bought it sight unseen.
The Mercalli fit and finish is the same high quality as my guitar. The pups are impressive (visually and tonally) and close to equal volume between bridge/neck. The satin neck is lovely to touch. Fret work is great, and action is low w/o buzz. Hardware is high quality. It is lightweight and balances on a strap. I think it is nice looking. So far, so good, right? Uh oh, wait a sec ... I'm a "1.5" nut guy" but figured the slightly wider 1.65" nut would be fine. I was wrong. I am apparently very picky about having a 1.5" nut and while I can play the bass it feels just a bit off for me.
Sadly for me it's for sale in the tb classifieds.

The smoothness of the lineup is what has stopped me from pulling the trigger on a second Rev and being an all Rev guy.
Love them, but need my four stringer to be ALL snarl and spit.

The fat fish is amazingly snarly. It'll do thump if that's what you want. But that's not what I go for at all. It's really aggressive
Yeah, mine has been front of rotation and killin in the mix while ironing out the last couple of songs. The punch and fat tone are like nothing else
I fall deeper and deeper in love with my triad every day! Such a joy to play. I am going to need a new amp though. Probably something Orange.
This has probably been covered before but what strings come stock on reverends? I changed the strings on my fat fish and things got worse. Still great but not AS great.
I know they do on some of the baritones. I'll have to do some research. Cause these nickel lo riders just don't sound as good as what was on there in the beginning.
