... glad it's me asking it !

despite of so many amps through my life, I never had any rig with 2 cabs.

Just to be sure I won't commit a big mistake adding a cabinet, please can anyone confirm my connection is right :

Head > 1st cab
1st cab > 2nd cab

Both cabs are 8 ohm so I get 4 ohm impedance, right ?

I was actually mistaken by explanations on Eden's manuals. The schemes were not very understandable. My bad : since my gear is not Eden at all, why did I check this on their manuals ?

As well as I was worried by some schemes, I guess I understood the formula for impedance in PARALLEL mode :

(imp1 * imp2) / (imp1 + imp2)
imp1 = impedance of first cab
imp2 = impedance of second cab

So for your question :
(4 * 4) / (4 + 4) = 16 / 8 = 2

Other example : 8 ohm cab + 4 ohm cab
(8 * 4) / (8 + 4) = 32 / 12 = 2.67

Yeah, I finally figured this out.
But my amp has 1 jack + 1 speakon output, and the cabs have only jacks.
I know some cables run from speakon to jack, but seems more simple to me to daisy chain the cabs.

I'm thinking about getting another 4 ohm cab and downgrading to a Kustom 1200 for a while.

1200 watts at 2 ohms! Then I'll save for a nice SVT.

Same thing, same results, since normally the two speaker outputs of your amp are wired in parallel.
I personnaly guess I'll prefer daisy chaining the cabs (head > cab1 > cab2), which allows to use a bit less length of cable.

Ah, fair enough, im lucky, all my cabs use jacks and both my heads have a couple jack sockets, so im safe

You set it to whatever load you are running, if you have two 8ohm cabs in parallel you switch it to 4Ohm, if you are running a single 8 Ohm cab you switch it to 8 Ohm etc etc

the kustom 1200 is not a downgrade by any means keith. im telling you!
