I installed the Pro Z in an SR1000 and it sounds fantastic. It's almost has too much flexibility so it's for those who like to 'tweak their tone' a lot. I recommend shielding the pickup and control cavities though as the Audere reaveals everything, even noise.

Wondering if anyone could tell me what model this Soundgear is and any other info. I believe it to be 1991 and made in MAy by the SIN

Just checked the link. I want to say 800. You are right about the year if the serial number is correct (Serial: f152136) however Those are not the original pups or knobs and from what I can see all the available models that year had eq's making them 4 knob.

Edit: I want to say my '93 SR400 is the first of the 3 knob'd SR's but the neck joint doesn't look like that and it has a different bridge. I'm sure someone with better knowledge of the early 90's SR's will chime in and correct me.

I got some detailed up close pics of this bass and decided to e mail and cancel it. It is in too rough of shape for me to want to pay $200 for it, especially the finish on the neck and the tuners

EDIT: Well I e mailed to cancel the transfer from the store where it is at. They have not responded yet and that was 2 days ago. Sooo...I might be getting it anyways! I guess if I do I will make a project out of it and try to fix up the old girl.

Here are the detailed pics, tell me if you think she is worth $200. I have to admit I am interested in the pickups

Thanks, it looks just like the one I bought new back in '93. I upgraded the pickups and bridge on that one. Don't know why I ever sold it. I think I got the Fender bug or something.
haha, anyway can't wait till it gets here. Should only take a couple days.

Fender bug, huh. That's why you need to own a Fender and an Ibanez. ;) I look forward to your review of that bass. I bet it still sounds amazing.

Really? I've never heard any criticism about it. I think the same bridge is on the SR500 (but don't quote me on that).

Although I love my SR600, and have owned great SR500's as well, there's nothing wrong with the SR300 at all - it's a great bass for not a lot of cash.
