Still working on watching all of DS9. “Inquisition”, S6E18, is a much better Section 31 story than than the POS new movie. And it suggests it will be continued in further episodes.

The following 2 episodes are very good as well. In S6E19 “In The Pale Moonlight”, Sisko cooks up a plan to potentially end the Dominion war sooner, but has to go a little rogue and get his hands dirty (with a substantial assist from Garak, one of my favorite characters). Very un-Starfleet. Then in “His Way”, S6E20, hologram “Vic Fontaine” plays matchmaker to Odo and Major Kira.

If a hologram like Fontaine knows he’s a hologram, is he sentient? I see this has been discussed on other forums.

Anyone see “Friday’s Child” recently? It’s one I haven’t seen in years and watched last night. It’s a weeeiird episode. Strange dialogue and facial expressions from the actors. McCoy smacks pregnant Julie Newmar. Very odd episode. I don’t know what was happening during filming but something was going on. Either everyone was angry or stoned. Not sure.

Lifelong Trek fan here, who grew up with all of the original crew movies as a kid in the 80s, while also going back and watching the original series at the same time. Even though The Next Generation was new and actively filming while I was growing up, I didn't get into it as much. The original crew was always 'my' Star Trek, and the 'refit' Enterprise was always 'my' Enterprise. Now, after having absorbed and appreciated much more of the Trek universe through my adult years, I appreciate TNG a lot more.... and really love 'Picard'. I'm halfway thru season 2 of it and feel like it's been very well done so far. It makes me appreciate Picard/Patrick Stewart in a way I didn't when I was younger. It made me go back and watch TNG episodes I had ignored for decades.

I enjoyed the JJ Abrams reboots for what they are, but get why they are problematic for some. I don't share the harsh criticisms of it, and I think the inclusion of Nimoy in the way they did it was a wonderful olive branch to tie things together for continuity for old and new fans. That said, I have to temporarily suspend my knowledge of everything else I know about Star Trek and go into 'Abrams Mode' when I watch them. Very different interpretations of the Trek concept.... for better and worse.

I watched but never got into DS9, Voyager, etc., but I am going to dig into 'Enterprise' at some point. It was on during my college years and I missed it totally.

I have a habit of looking up into on old shows I really like. Apparently Kate Mulgrew really did not like Jeri Ryan coming on Voyager and becoming a (the) main character. I always thought the anger looked very real when the characters butted heads. Maybe it was.

Andrew Robinson wrote a Star Trek DS9 novel about Garak, "A Stitch in Time", that tied up some loose ends and brought some closure to the character. Take a look at the price of a used copy of the paperback edition!

I'm on my yearly rewatch of TNG, currently in the middle of Season 7, and youtube has been feeding me a lot of interview clips from the cast. So as I get to "Thine Own Self" and "Masks" I'm freshly reminded of Brent Spiner talking about how exhausting it was to do 2 Data centric episodes back to back, with no prep time before the one where he has to play a bunch of different characters. I think he did a fine job, there's just no character depth or motivation with anyone in that episode. It's just wacky alien probe stuff happening and Picard gets to use his love of archeology to solve a mystery, while Data does characters welcome style improv

Anyway, DS9 is definitely up for a rewatch next
