A friend of mine had a Diablo 2 problem.
He burned his discs and buried the ashes about 2 years ago.
I sold my discs for $20 and never looked back. I had conquered that game in obsession though. At one point i went from level 1 to 91 in one day. No joke. No cheats.
I had about 200 SOJ's (not sure if they still use those as currency) and several level 98 characters (never got to 99 though..)

Mass hydras is a great way to go, long game or short game. If you're toss, carriers + shield batteries all the way. 
Hehe, played that stuff too back in the day, would love to breed endless zerglings and then launch them to mass extermination by a group of terran soldiers pumped up by medics, aaaaah the smell of toasted zergs in the morning 
would be cool to see a sequel someday, especially because the secret level of SC:brood wars suggests it (somekind of zerg/protoss hybrid created by an elder race would join the mess)
edit- The only game I was seriously addicted was unreal tournament, I never want to look at that game again, nearly blew my hands with that stuff

Figjam. I'm having the same problem with World of Warcraft.
Might have something to do with maintenance.. or whatever.

Personally, now that WoW is so popular, I don't think we'll see another Warcraft RTS. But blizzard clearly makes good RTS games, so it's Starcraft that will, in theory, pick up the slack. Unless perhaps they have a whole new title kicking around.
The reason Starcraft is still played is because WC3 is a different game. They are both RTS, but WC3 deviates from Starcraft's style greatly.
Man, I want to play some total annihilation now. Dang.
Ii actually think theyre trying to keep the SC magic , and not make it too 3d or complicated.

So, assuming they make a fairly traditional RTS for Starcraft 2, I would expect them to then make a new franchise entirely to back the 3D RTS realm(since the 2 are pretty different)

Starcraft Ghost, the first person shooter version, is due to come out on xbox and ps2 i think summer 06.. its supposed to be good, but I don't know anymore.. I remember hearing rumors about it when I actually played Starcraft many years ago, but alas:

I do not believe SC:ghost is intended to be Starcraft 2. If I'm not mistaken blizzard has stated many times that SC:ghost is not Starcraft 2 and that Starcraft 2 will be a proper RTS follow-up to Starcraft.

Anyone catch the secret messages Blizzard had in that count-down timer many years back? If converted the numbers to letters it said "Somebody call for an exterminator," which is what the Terran Ghost unit in Starcraft says when the unit is created. A pretty subtle hint towards the next SC game.
OK, you guys have talked about how awesome this game "Total Annihilation" is, and now you got me wanting to play it. Still buyable? can you play it online?

man, as soon as we moved into this 5 person student flat last summer, the first thing we did was get some 5 man starcraft on the go. can't say i'm a huge fan; more of a command and conquer guy myself. but my flatmates were (and are) very into it.
as for the sequel, since blizzard must have an HQ built on a mountain of gold and human souls as a result of WoW's success, you'd hope they'd be able to pull out all the stops and make something really special ths time. hmmm, an sc/c&c hybrid- that would be cool...

The flat sounds like a lot of fun. I have a friend that had 7 (yes, 7) brothers, and they all play SC. They have a big office-ish room in their house and they each have a laptop set up in there. They all play brutal FFA games online w/ each other while sitting in the same room. They also do like 4v4 team stuff which must be real cool to just be sittin there right next to your teammates.velvetkevorkian said:
