The Struts

Well, back from the show, and I'll tell you, that's the most pumped up I have been following a show in YEARS! Of course, being third person from the stage, in a small club, helps. ;-)

But let me tell you, these guys freaking delivered from THE FIRST BEAT!

In fact, they delivered before that, when they came on stage to a prerecorded track of Freddy King doing Going Down - Instant credibility with me (in part as my band plays that tune).

Also interesting to me that they played their 1st big hit "Coulda Been Me", second, and then their up and coming song, "Kiss This" third. Props for getting the most popular ones out of the way, rather than saving for last.

Luke Spiller is a perfect front man, and the rest of the band a right there with him, you can just tell they know they are on a rising tide and are loving it. We should all be so lucky (said the 50 YO in the Dad band.....).

They were filming the band and crowd throughout, and said they plan on using footage for an upcoming video - so my daughter and I might be in our first music video, camera was pointing our direction repeatedly.

I am totally beat - but will see if any of the video I shot came out decent. Will post if so. Here are a couple of pics for now -

Oh, and since this is Talkbass - the bass player was playing a rack mount tube SVT (whatever that model is) and a fridge. Looked like his P Bass was a classic 50's, but with a high mass bridge of unknown origin, and a tug bar and string tree from a P Special (brass).

Sounded thunderous!
