Actually, they're not even 200s, I believe they're '67 100s, note the 4 knobs, not 3.


But here's some shots with the 2000s rig Satori mentioned, though not the pic I think he's actually referencing.

Also, this is the first time I ever noticed Noel's bass has lollipop tuners on it. As far as I know, it was a 1964, and it doesn't have a bound neck, but I can't find any pictures of it without lollipops, so I wonder what's up with that. Guess he just switched them, or they were switched when he bought it.

One interesting thing about this picture is the JHE was opening for someone and they had even more stuff stacked up behind them. It's looks like some Sunn cabinets too. I'm kind of curious who that was.

What a cool thread. I've just come into a Sunn 215s, and am picking up a pair of SPL 15s, made in Kentucky and apparently modeled after JBLs, from a local her in RI. Pretty much "nos" drivers.

I'm just an enthusiastic fan, not much experience with any of the Sunn tube heads, etc. I have had a 215s before, ran an Acoustic 370 into it. Glad to have scored one of these cool cabs again. Got a Crate BT 350 to run my Epi T-Bird into it with for now.

I had two Sunn 2000S cabs years ago with JBL D-140's in them and used a Marshall Major head to power them. Those cabs moved some serious air especially with the Marshall and a P bass to the point of the bartender at a steady gig we used to play every weekend calling us The Big Wind. I had a 2000S head at one time too but never really gigged with it, I had an SVT at the time (still do) and that thing blew every other existing bass amp off the stage. Sorry Sunn fanatics:roflmao:

Id be keenly interested in hearing about any info or opinions on this SPL driver (the one on the right), I'm told it was modeled after a JBL. It's shown here with the one it was designed after...

These SPLs were used as subs for a PA once, in a cab like a 215B, then put away. Haven't been used since, this was a long time ago. I'm deciding between these and a pair of NEOs. I want to be able to do reggae with them as well as obnoxious rock N roll.

Well they're not a bad deal, and I'm having a gut thing about them too... probably better than the general PA use Celestions in the cab now- although the previous owner was using an old SVT to drive them.
