Looks like I'll be getting happy with the 215S... just gotta figure what to put in it. The Celestion PA 15s on it now are working, we'll see if I don't beat them to a rattling end.

I've got a pair of 2 cab 2000S rigs, not many stages they reasonably fit on, so in that respect I suppose it's a bit of overkill...

The 400 watt Reeves doesn't "suck", but the big Sunns are butter. 150 watts. I can't help but chuckle when I read threads where posters claim you need a minimum of 500 watts to gig.
See how long you can stay in the same room with that two cab measly 150 watt Sunn dimed. ;)

Everything about the Sunn 2000s says efficiency. The hifi frequency response and clarity of the amp. The cab design and the mating with the very efficient JBL D-140s. Your Reeves is bludgeoning the volume out of an inefficient but effective box when pumped with huge power. I've owned and played this combination of Sunns when new and can say your vision would be distorted when standing in front. :)

D.M.N. and EdBass are both correct. The "Holy Grail" is the Noel Redding amp. As for cabinets, 2000S rules for me but the 200S is no slouch as shipped O.E.M. with D140's. IMHO the 200S is "tuned" slightly higher, maybe 42Hz vs say 38Hz with the 2000S. Currently own 3 of each and feel the 200S is "tighter" and the 2000S is "fuller" if that makes any sense as these are just adjectives. You can feel the 2000S more in yer feet. I feel better on stage with 2 2000S bins than 2 200S bins. Just more stage presence. And so I did 2. I prefer 1 amp per bin to push them to higher SPL than running 1 head into a pair. 300 watts and 4 D140's wiped out the 3000 watt P.A. at this gig. Head room for days. Sunn in charge.

I had a 215M which is a 215S with the optional "Magna" speakers....they were Cerwin-Vega and I installed 2 brand new JBL K-140's and it killed and is tuned IMHO differently than the 200S. It's seems lower, like 40Hz. Layed on the port side to floor couple, I stacked a stock 200S on top. Great combo with 4 jbl D/K-140's. I also had a 215S with Altec-Lansing 421A speakers. Loud, but too much mids for my taste. If it's a 15", then it's either D or K 140 for me.

Thank you. I do love my 73 SVT, ACC 370 and especially my 68 Showman but bury me with my 2000S rigs. My sons have instructions to build a barge out of them, start a funeral pyre with me on it and push it into the fjord for a proper burial before my trip to Valhalla. Ya, they watch "The Vikings" show.... :-D
