I'm guessing an Aguilar Tone Hammer. It would be a good reference for a solid state preamp + class D amp that tries to sound like a tube amp (not my personal experience* but I read this often on TB).
* nothing against Aguilar amps, I just don't have a lot of experience with tube amps myself

Love my Tone Hammer 500 (and the THDI).

EDIT: I will also note that my current main amp is a Genz Benz Streamliner 900, so it has enough in common with the Kinetix that I don't think I could justify owning both.

WE HAVE A WINNER!

I decided my life wouldn't be complete without an SVT, and I found a local deal on an SVT-CL. I'm well aware that it weighs more than half as much as me, but as a non-gigging bassist I don't have to worry about weight because it's going to sit in my basement forever anyway.

I'm not getting the 810 fridge, but my main cab right now is an Eden 610, and I feel like they will pair well together. Combined the stack will weigh 210lbs, so that's fun.

I feel like this was the answer that everyone thought of but decided it was too ridiculous to guess, so it was of course the correct answer.

Looking forward to the Sushi Box version of the legendary SVT-DI!

Story time? Story time.

When I was going to college I worked in a music store, and we were a Spector dealer. I decided I wanted a real bass, as the $50 eBay piece of garbage I had been playing wasn't cutting it. So I had the store order me a Spector Legend X in the "holoflash" finish I was in love with. The bass came, I played it, said "cool", paid for it and took it home. The very next day someone came to the store and traded in an Ibanez SR500. I loved the look, so I decided to plug it in and try it. I instantly fell in love with the feel of the neck, the contoured body fit me just right, and the Bartolini pickups sounded fabulous. I went straight home and brought back the Spector and swapped it out. The Ibanez was coming with me.

I kept the SR500 for about 5 years I think, then on a whim sold it and bought an SR1600, because I figured if I liked the lower end 500, surely I would like the higher end version better. It was aesthetically gorgeous, it had the same slinky neck profile, and it was all around a "better" bass. But for some reason I never really connected with it. I ended up selling it and building a partscaster jazz bass with an onboard tube preamp (long story, there's a build thread somewhere). I still like that bass and still play it, the roasted maple Mexican jazz neck on it plays great and looks great. But part of me has always longed for the feel of the Ibanez SR.

Fast forward to last night, I was casually perusing basses online, like we all do, and a thought popped into my head: is there a neck-through Ibanez SR model? I love the feel of the SR, but I've always loved neck-throughs as well. A quick google search led me to a TB thread where a helpful member listed all the neck-through models Ibanez ever made, and I went through and looked up each one. When I got to the SR900FM, the first result that popped up was a GC used listing for an SR900FM, so I took a look. The pictures weren't great (as we all expect from GC), but it was gorgeous. And on top of that, the price was good. It quickly landed in my cart and I checked out. Hopefully I like it as much (or more) than I did the SR500.

Well she just got back from her month-long solo vacation to visit her family, that cost more than the bass and the amp combined. But she's been itching to remodel the kitchen, so I think we have some new appliances incoming. These days an Ampeg fridge costs less than an actual fridge.

I own 7 Ibanez basses and their upright too. My all time favorite neck thru SR is the Cerro Single Cut SRSC805 5 string the 4 is the SRSC804. I think they've been discontinued but if you can find one used, get it! I replaced the MK1's with Nordstrand Big Splits and had it Plek'd, I call it my poor man's Fodera.. Seriously, I'd put this bass up against anything out there.

Alright, the SVT is in the trunk of my car right now, I thought I grabbed a pic before I headed inside but it's not showing up on my phone, so it may have to wait until I get home. The bass is marked as delivered, but the store hasn't told me it's ready for pickup yet, so it may have to wait until tomorrow.

The seller had the SVT hooked up to a 410 for me to try out and it was fabulous. Excited to see how it does with my 610.
