I had the same one, but the 905 5-String. I swapped out the stock electronics with a set of Nordstrand Pickups + Nordstrand Preamp and it really came to life.

I'll try bypassing the preamp first before making a decision, but Nordstrand is definitely the way I'm leaning if I end up swapping electronics.Congratulations, that's a great bass!!

Huge fan of the Nordstrand pre, and also their pickups.
I'm still finalizing the last few of my redesigns for the lineup, and I have to say, Black Eye II into the SVT through the 612 is hands down the best distorted bass tone I have ever heard in my life. I peed a little.
On that note, Black Eye II and JC Emerald will be available as soon as I get the new batch of enclosures in. JC Emerald is of course a winner and is (in my completely biased opinion) the best Marshall-flavored preamp out there, but Black Eye II will always be my favorite and hold that special place in my heart. I think it's going to get a video.

I can get behind that. My old (fractured cherry) Black Eye X is wonderful on guitar! I only wish I could upgrade to the II without having to figure go through the trouble of selling off the old one...
I have a Neptunium last in my chain, and I’ve really been liking the sound with the HPF on and the bass boosted. Super present and articulate. I just wish I had control over the cutoff frequency so I could control the depth vs mod punch of the sound.
The HPF is 6dB/octave at 90Hz. All the other HPFs I see are 12dB/octave, which has a very different character. Is there a 6dB/octave HPF out there that will sound like the one in the Neptunium but allows me to change the cutoff?

Probably not. Typically your 12dB/octave filters are going to be active filters, whereas the HPF in Noble/Nobelium/Neptunium is passive, which is why I unfortunately can't make it frequency adjustable (just saw your email).
Beatiful bass. I love the colour. If you feel comfortable with it, changing electronics and pickups it's a really easy upgrade (especially for you).

I have an Ibanez BTB845. It is the best playing bass while at the same time being the worst sounding bass I own.
I have been thinking of swapping the non-American wound bart pups with American wound. I've heard that it helps with the dark tone. But, like others have said, most say the replacing the preamp makes a bigger difference. My plan was to replace the preamp & the pups.
Bartolini preamps & pups are my favorite. I have heard some great tones coming from Nordy's, but I don't have any experience with that brand (yet). I will be watching for a build thread here, if you post one. I'm really interested to hear your thoughts once you get them replaced.

I'm thinking probably Friday afternoon, I'll let everyone here know first as soon as they're available. That should give me time to get a decent number of units built up and ready to ship, and anything that isn't ready by then will be available as a preorder. This will be another batch of 50 units, so you should have plenty time to get in on it.
The only one I can think off is Sushis C2CE Nobelium PCB build, you could change the capacitor to whatever you want to change the frequency.
The Neptunium is a smaller version of the Nobelium DIY PCB.
If you know what you are doing you could add another capacitor in parallel in the Neptunium to lower the HP frequency, you would have to ask Nathan what capacitor is in the RC HPF circuit.
I would leave it alone in a Neptunium.

@smeet I had one built for me for that exact reason. It has selectable slope of -6/-12/-24 on both HPF and LPF with custom selectable frequency cutoffs for highs and lows
