The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Worth mentioning I just sourced a 12AT7 for the Finally V3 and that is much more forgiving for me with the knob sensitivity, and it sounds absolutely killer! Now the level is around 8 o’clock and the gain knob at 2:30.

Sounds absolutely awesome. Also worth noting I am running it through a very high output active Ibanez, so my gain settings may be lower than others.

I have a 12at7 is my finally and a 12au7 in my ua and I prefer the 12at7 for sure.

I received my Neptunium today and I am absolutely stunned…

On the day of the rerelease, I went to the website early and began refreshing the page. I was able to order mine the minute they were available, behaving like a teenager hungry for Taylor Swift tickets. Not truly sure what to expect and I was worried that the impact would be too subtle for me.

I have be working with the pedal all day and it’s like my hobo tone woke up, moved into a mansion, took a shower, and put on a suit. It’s entirety my sound but exquisitely polished, with an athletic build.

Just here to say thanks @Sushi Box FX
I am utterly inspired.

Nathan you have a bad habit of making smash-hit one-offs!
There are certainly worse habits to have. Neptunium will be paying for my family's summer vacation and is already funding my next "hey wouldn't this be funny" stupid R&D experiments, as well as helping me stock up on things for production builds.

Running in circles 🤦

This weekends gigs; I guess we're a Sushi band now. My guitarist liked the sound of my Finally so much, he just bought a Finally v3 from Nathan, loaded with a 12AX7.
And I am using my More this weekend.

So I took a pic if my More, and his pedal board: he's running both outs.

He's got the bug now! He's looking at a JC Emerald next.

Well, although I have degree from EE, my diploma is very rusty, I don’t do it for living. Still, I would have guessed the cost of making Finally and Neptunium being pretty much the same. And I’d dare to call it educated guess. Despite this I was more than happy to pay the premium for Neptunium to support you. Enjoy!🍹I think it’s great community has you and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

I gifted my lead guitarist my JCE. It's the core of his pedal board & virtually always on. I sort of miss it but he deserved a great gift and is definitely doing it justice. We have been buddies since 1981 and he was a big inspiration for my picking up the bass.

I’m wondering if you fine folks can help me understand the main pros/cons of the Finally v3 and the Neptunium.

For context, I’ve got an active bass, an empress compressor and a relatively transparent solid state amp. I’m looking for something to round out/warm up my sound in the mix (I’m not here for the overdrive), and act as my ampless DI when required.

In a general sense, these two units seem to perform a similar function, but I’m sure the devil is in the details. I’ve read those “details” on paper, so more curious about the “real world” benefits of each.

Both seem quite popular and well-praised in their own rights.

P. S. I’ve never used a Nobel or Nobelium.

Thanks in advance!

My best friend is a guitarist. He told me I was the worst guitarist he had ever heard. 😂😂

He told me to play bass. I’ve been playing bass 30 years now. Best decision ever. Thank God for guitarist friends who help us along the way.

I have been waiting for a parcel from USA for nearly 3 weeks, USPS sent it around in circles for 2 weeks all over the US, I was told that some places got some bad snowstorms causing the parcel to re-directed many times.
Many others have had problems with deliveries in the US lately as well.
We just finished summer down here in Australia but I still had snow falling at my place a few weeks ago one day, and we had 36 C a few days before the snowfall.

In that scenario, unless you have a need for two D.I.s, it would probably make more sense to run an Underground Accelerator (with lower-gain tube) into a Neptunium/Nobelium.
The Finally is basically an Underground Accelerator that's traded its EQ stack for a D.I. out.

Yes. Nice to have options.

Finally v3 update:

I played the local dive. My Rumble 100 had both Gain and Master at 9 o' clock only. Without the Finally they have to be at 3 o'clock for me to be heard.
I didn't blow out the speaker or the venue. Sounded great.
So...was it because of the grit/distortion added by the Finally that you were able to roll with lower volume?
