The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

Just finished a preliminary sort of the tubes I got before running them through the tester. I didn't get a ton of amp/pedal useful tubes, but here are some highlights:

Ken-Rad 6SN7
Tung-Sol USA 12AX7
RCA 12AT7
Westinghouse 12AU7
GE metal can 6L6

Also got a good smattering of 12BH7, which may or may not be useful, haven't decided yet, and of course half a dozen rectifiers.

I'll take the BH7's if you don't want or need them. My Skunkworks SVT takes them.

The 12BH7 is half an AX and half an AU in the same bottle, right?

Less power for sure, I'm not familiar enough to speak to the tone, but Blackstar uses it for power in their HT5 amp. I wasn't aware it could actually push 5W, but there you have it.

@Sushi Box FX Now that I’ve ordered a Westinghouse, thought I’d ask about V’s and mu’s, lol.

I have a PA, Sunnday Drive on the way and I bought the One Spot per your reco, along with the Daisy chain cable. I’m hoping to be able to run all three from it.

What do you think?

An excellent question. I'm going to try it myself before I say for sure that it will work, but I expect it to work. OneSpots are rated for 1700mA, but I've actually pulled 2000mA out of mine on tube warm-up, back before I designed my own pedalboard power supply.

So while running all three together might get you close to or over the limit during warm-up, I still expect it to work and the three combined will pull less than the limit after they're warmed up.

A lot of shows I play are get on/get off the stage, because we play with multiple bands most nights.

Warm up time depends on the power supply's current, but with a decent power supply warm up is maybe 10-30 seconds.

Got the prototype Bee in and it sounds incredible. It's impossible to read the dark red on black without a flashlight, but happy to have it nonetheless. Thanks @Sushi Box FX!

Yeah the red on black was not a great design choice :P Was going for something different and got something different, but different isn't always useful. Glad it sounds good though :)

I think gloss black lettering on a matte black enclosure looks good. As long as you can see the knob settings, once you know the controls the printed info is rote.

Quick note on Westinghouse: Current draw is 500mA during warm-up, settles down to about 215mA after warm-up. Warm up time was about 10 seconds.

Also I put some quick info together for Westinghouse and Space Heater (I think that's the name) on the website, so there's some info there now.
