I think I need a SpaceHouseSlayer. Buffer input, buffer between the pedals, buffer output, pedal order switchable.

@Chace90 graciously let me check out his Edison a couple weeks ago, which helped me decide on a Westinghouse for my March build slot. It's still reasonably fresh in my mind, and I posted reference Edison audio samples/waveform visuals in post #3706. I'll be quite interested to hear what difference the voltage knob makes compared to the Edison.

One side effect of COVID and the cessation of band activities has meant that I have learned to play guitar well enough for it to take over almost all of my practice time and songwriting.

Thus, I am now getting interested in the Sushi Box guitar pedal offerings, but can't decide between a Lab Rat and Black Eye. Would anyone have any idea which would produce the most stable (clear?) distortion and interesting harmonics at high gain settings? I'm looking for something that would play well with other guitars. I'll never be a lead player so sustain is not an issue.

I wonder how the bass-voiced Dr. Wattson I have on the way will sound with a Tele. I guess, I'll find out soon.

I suppose I'll need an Echosaurus at some point as well.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person here that's played both, and personally I would lean towards the Black Eye. I don't think I have any demos up for it right now, but it's a clone of the Soldano Turbocharger GTO, so any demos you can find of that will show you the general idea of the pedal. Lab Rat is excellent but it's a bit more aggressive. Both cover high gain very well, but Black Eye is a bit more refined in my opinion.

I have the prototype for the X Series Black Eye on my desk right now, but I also just finished the layout for a Black Eye X with a pair of 12AX7 in the smaller enclosure, I'm trying to find an excuse to make another circuit board order so I can get that one in and just skip the big box version.

On the note of Echosaurus, I finally got this one finished up. Fractured cherry is probably the most finnicky finish to apply, but man it looks so great.
