And there ya go! I'm sure things get even better sounding with an X model, I was always curious to what a lower gain 12au would sound like
I'm in the march batch and will be getting a PAx. Im intending to experiment with different tubes and report back.
So far I'm keeping my super stack to eventually compare it to the PAx and against my effectrode blackbird. Well see how it all goes with the tube flipping, and ill report back.
It was mentioned a few pages back about the possibility of different SlamX tubes, and I did put a 5751 into mine.

The FV-1 is super neat, and with the development tools out there (if fellow builders don't know about SpinCAD, check it out) it's super easy to develop great sounding patches even without any coding experience. Gondwana uses a pre-made IR loader, but the microcontroller firmware that controls the display and the address selector was written from scratch, so I still feel like a fancy programmer
Also I love having this thread here where I can take suggestions and bounce ideas off of people. Makes my market research super easy
Quick March update for the day, I had a long night last night and now I'm at:
Circuit board assembly: 91% (everything except Deep Dish is together)
UV printing: 95% (just need to finish up the bottom plates)
Final assembly: hard to put a percentage on, but all pots and switches are installed, just need to get tubes put in and do testing then I can get them in boxes and start getting them shipped. I'm hoping to get at least a handful shipped out tomorrow, but I had to take an important break today.

UV printer still working strong? as much as you're pushing through you'll have a good review on it I'm sure!
Ahh, a fellow microchipper. Glad you're on the vaccination path! Freedom is around the corner!
UV printer is still great, just has a couple quirks I have to deal with every now and then. If I don't print every day I need to wipe the nozzles a couple times when I fire it back up, and there seems to be a tiny leak in one of the seals so after 50 prints or so I have to open it up and swab where the feeders plug in in case the colors start mixing (my first month or so all the whites came out with a blue tint and it took me a while to figure out why). But overall happy with it
Just now reading through this thread finds me having placed an order for the PA in the May batch....we'll see what this is all about in June. Can't wait.

Happily trending in my own peculiar direction.
I'm sure those large Slampegg X's are nice. But me, I'm glad I went with this minitube Slampegg. Having gigged and rehearsed it in a few spaces... Ultra Hi & Bright up for obnoxious funk, Ultra Lo for T Rex footstep vibrations, the works... the aggressive hair and noticeable compression at the edge? That's the language I speak.
And I've discovered that yes! It plays nicely with the Linden EQ (smaller version) perched just before it. Between the toggles and knobs of the two, I've got a slew of gainstage EQ options, and they ALL SOUND FABULOUS.
I'm rather convinced I now have the finest tonestack on all of TalkBass. Even my MGBass's snarly EMG active kit turns into a debonair, but persistent, agent of late-night thumps thru this board.

Super quick update today: got all the tube daughter boards put together last night, got about half installed today, getting ready to do the rest then move to testing. I wasn't able to get anything shipped out today, but I should be able to start boxing and getting a few shipping notices out tonight.

Well I made a dumb mistake. 12AX7 and EF86 are completely different tubes with completely different pinouts so I have separate daughter boards for each, but without thinking I just installed 12AX7 daughter boards on all the Westinghouses. It won't damage the tube, but I did burn up a couple resistors, and now it's going to take me a couple hours getting them changed back over. Oops.
All the comments I’ve seen here have been very supportive of your efforts to get these gems done when they can get done and not to rush or unnecessarily strain yourself to make any deadlines . You need to remember that ! Sorry I feel like an old dad admonishing his kid but really everyone here only wants the best for you and the best pedals you can make w/o stressing out ...... We all hope to get many , many years of Sushi delight coming our way ..... Kelly

Yup, and I appreciate it. On the website I give myself until the 10th of the month to finish everything and I've never needed it before, but I'm glad I have it this time. So as of now:
- UV printing is 95% done, just need to do one more box, it's a custom one (long story)
- everything has been tested except the Westinghouses per the above reason
- started boxing up the ones that have been tested, 20% of the orders are fully assembled and ready to ship
I still haven't put together the Deep Dishes, but there are only 4 so it shouldn't take me long, and I still want to play with the LED indicator circuit.
If you get this sorted/tweaked, is it something where those of us with a Deep Dish can send it back and get the improvement?
